I think all crafted items should have the option of being "recrafted" into there original components. As for the percentage, I think that would be a little to complicated, used items should not be able to be recrafted.
Upgraded Furnace
When you would put two furnaces next to each other such as with a treasure chest they would combine into one big furnace. This big furnace would have two slots for ores. When two ores are placed into the slots (Either copper and tin or iron and coal) and a fuel is put under them they would combine and become an alloy.
Ores Tin- The most common ore. Only purpose is to serve as the other half of bronze or it could be forged into bars and made into tools along with other metals. Tin tools would be stronger then wood but weaker then copper. Copper- Less common and tin, more common then iron. It would be stronger then tin yet weaker then bronze. It could be made into tools of it’s own or forged with tin to make bronze.
Alloys Bronze- It is an alloy made of tin and copper. It would be stronger then copper yet weaker then iron. It would be useful because of the abundance of tin and copper and would be a nice substitute for iron when none can be found. Steel- It is an alloy made of iron and a carbon base (in this case coal). It would be stronger then iron yet weaker then diamond.
