Coolness. Once your done, I'm so using this pack! I've also been too busy- I haven't worked on my pack in forever. I might change the stone of mine though, it just needs more of a stone texture to it. Well anyway, the focus is on your texture pack, not mine. The textures look great so far- so far I have no grievances! Keep up the good work! (ldk why.)
The glass looks like it came from Sphax, and loki_of_sassgard has a point there. For the mobs I would use more detail (noise, blurs, etc.). They look too solid in color, and if it's a texture pack based on default, shouldn't the mobs look just a little bit different than default? It's the same with the bed. What editing program are you using?
Your having some tiling issues still, because it looks like what you're doing is just applying some sort of noise or texture effect to your layer, which very rarely works in hi-res texture packs, as has been stated already. Tiling is really simple, and once you get the hang of it, you can do some pretty intricate designs that tile really well.
I'm assuming you're at least using Paint.NET, but any programme with layers will work.
It took me more time to crop and upload the images than it did to do this texture:
Start off with your texture in the size you'll be working. Give it a solid base colour, just so you can see what you're doing.
Expand the canvas (the image SIZE; not resolution) by 200%.
On a new layer, start outlining the bit that you want to tile. Go out of the boundary of your coloured square. Sometimes by a lot, sometimes by just a little bit.
Copy that layer and make it invisible. We'll need it again in a little bit. On the copy of the layer, move the bits of the outline that went over the canvas over to the very edges of coloured square. The square select and nudge tools are your friend, because they keep everything lined up perfectly.
Go back to the INVISIBLE layer and make it visible again. Using the bits that you moved over, fill in the gaps. The layer we cut up, we're going to ignore for now. You can make it invisible now, if you want, but don't delete it. You'll need it again later.
Now, do all your colouring and texturing. Don't texture anything that's broken up. Texture the bits that go outside of the lines. You can do this on as many layers as you need, and then just flatten them later. Or, if you're really patient, move all the layers separately.
Which is what you do now. The same way you moved the guide layer, use the square select tool and nudge everything over so it matches up with your guide.
Now resize your canvas back down to the proper dimensions. You can use the crop tool, or if you expanded it 200%, just cut it by 50%.
And last, if you still want to, you can use texture or noise overlays. But be very careful, because even though the bits that I've drawn tile perfectly (even if it is poorly laid out), the texture very obviously doesn't.
I really love the theme of this pack. RPG and Cartoon texture packs have always been my favorite packs, and you nailed the cartoon style!
What I really like about it is the dark outlines- after all, it is a cartoon pack. I love the new obsidian- keep up the good work!
Well... I have this same problem with my computers. Ok, so I have a computer WITH internet (the one I'm using now) and a computer WITHOUT internet (the one with Minecraft). I live with my grandparents, and they won't let me put Minecraft on the computer I'm using now, because they said that it will slow it down (they worry ALOT). So, as a result, I am stuck with two computers. I tried transporting 1.6.4 on to the other computer (the one without internet) WITH the new launcher, and turns out it doesn't work. It just wants to download some java stuff, but can't. So now I'm stuck with 1.5.2 until I get that fixed (which will be a while).
That looks better, but I would make the coal a bit lighter, like gray to the point where it's almost black. They look like holes in the stone, not coal. But your doing good so far! it just takes practice, I sucked my first time, we probably all have. Your not alone, dude.

This. This is how you texturize.
