what is the command your trying to use with @s? The command I gave above works for me.

also, the reason switching @a to your name doesn't work is because you can't use selectors with specific players, if you want to use specific players with that nbt, try using

    /execute as @a[name="Cuthulu548",nbt={SelectedItem:{id:"minecraft:gold_nugget",tag:{display:{Name:'{"text":"The Power Nugget","color":"gold","bold":true}'}}}}] run effect give Cuthulu548 minecraft:regeneration 2 1 true

posted a message on Need Help: Turning Items into Scoreboard Score

in this way I found, you need 2 scoreboard objectives.

make a 2 command block chain:

    command block 1:

    impulse unconditional needs redstone

execute store result score @p objective2 run clear @p apple

    command block 2:

    chain conditional always active

    scoreboard players operation @p objective1 += @p objective2

objective1 will be how many total apples you have given, and objective2 will be how many you gave on the press of the button you just did.

just have your button connected to command block 1 in some way.

posted a message on Teams and Scoreboard

so first, run these commands (if you already have an objective, just ignore the first command and change where it says 'killcount' to whatever your objective is named):

/scoreboard objectives add killcount totalKillCount "Kill Count"
    /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar.team.red killcount
    /team add arena
    /team modify arena color red

then, have whoever enters the arena join the team arena using this:

    /team join arena <player>

then, you need a 3 command block chain like the picture I attached

    command block 1:

    repeating unconditional always active

    execute if entity @a[scores={killcount=3}] run tp @a ~ ~ ~

    command block 2:

    chain conditional always active

    scoreboard players reset @a killcount

    command block 3:

    chain conditional always active

    team leave @a

    Quote from Cthulhu548»

@s causes the command block to have no effect

    the message I get is

"Expected whitespace to end one argument, but found trailing data at position 29:...Cthulhu548<-"

I have no idea why it works fine if I change Cthulhu548 to @p but not the other way around.

if your using @s, your name shouldn't be anywhere in the command block.

    this command should work:

    /execute as @a[nbt={SelectedItem:{id:"minecraft:gold_nugget",tag:{display:{Name:'{"text":"The Power Nugget","color":"gold","bold":true}'}}}}] run effect give @s minecraft:regeneration 2 1 true

this is because redstone torches have a one tick delay to them, using something like this will make them all activate at the same time

posted a message on Need help understanding /data command

I’m not able to get on my pc rn to test this, but you can try making a scoreboard then storing the map data to it

    first, run

    /scoreboard objective add map dummy

    then, change the command to

/execute store result score #map map run data get @e[x=x,y=y,z=z,type=minecraft:item_frame,limit=1,distance=0..1] Item.tag.map

then you read from the player #map in the map scoreboard

EDIT: I'm at my pc now, the command above is slightly wrong, the correct command is

/execute store result score #map map run data get entity @e[x=x,y=y,z=z,type=minecraft:item_frame,limit=1,distance=0..1] Item.tag.map

posted a message on Need help understanding /data command

the command I put works perfectly for me,

make sure you typed it in exactly right, Item needs to be capitalized.

if you still can't get it to work, could you either give the exact error message it gave or put a screenshot?

posted a message on Need help understanding /data command

    try this:

    /data get entity @e[x=x,y=y,z=z,type=minecraft:item_frame,limit=1,distance=0..1] Item.tag.map

the item data would look something like this:

    Item:{id:"minecraft:filled_map",Count:1b,tag:{map:#}}

so you need to include tag in the path

when you put distance=3, it will only target entities exactly 3 blocks away, ..3 is 3 blocks or less, and 3.. is 3 blocks or above

posted a message on Help with nbt and inventory

your command had a lot of unnecessary stuff, so I cleaned it up and fixed it so this should work:

    execute as @a[x=5688,y=48,z=5759,distance=..1,nbt={Inventory:[{id:"minecraft:red_glazed_terracotta"},{id:"minecraft:green_glazed_terracotta"},{id:"minecraft:yellow_glazed_terracotta"},{id:"minecraft:light_blue_glazed_terracotta"}]}] run tp @s 5679 46 5769 -15 6

also, you don't need to use an execute command for this, you can just use a tp command like this:

    tp @a[x=5688,y=48,z=5759,distance=..1,nbt={Inventory:[{id:"minecraft:red_glazed_terracotta"},{id:"minecraft:green_glazed_terracotta"},{id:"minecraft:yellow_glazed_terracotta"},{id:"minecraft:light_blue_glazed_terracotta"}]}] 5679 46 5769 -15 6
