Completely freezes. No "Minecraft has encountered an error", no nothing. I've left it sitting for upwards of 30 minutes with no changes. I just double checked my Java and display drivers and will give it a quick restart and test.
Ah, silly me, I'll post specs:
RAM: 2048 MB
Processor: 2.2Ghz
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 6200 (I really need a new card. And a better processor. And a new computer. *sigh*)
Minecraft does run on my laptop which is a lot worse off than this computer. And this computer runs other games just fine. So, um, yeah.
So, whenever I try to run Minecraft, browser and download, it will run anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes before it freezes up my entire computer which forces me to restart. I've re-downloaded clients and my graphics card is up to date. Any suggestions?
Ciber's server seems to be down and wasn't that amazing anyway. He charged outrageous amounts for iron which /iron does and seemed to be a small child. He said he'd protect us from griefers with his "admin powerz". So yeah. WTB another server that has a town theme going.
Sounds like a delicious sandwich. My plans for SMP are getting some friends together, building a large fort in the middle of nowhere and seeing how long we can defend it.
I laughed a little (not at you) when I saw "SMP by Friday". It struck me how fast we're getting updates and the quality they are. SMP by Friday would be an absurd thing to say in other games, but here, Notch could totally do something like that.
The last time Notch was doing SMP, people were saying "IT'S GONNA BE DONE TOMORROW OMAGAWWWWWDZ" and Notch took a full month break.

Back when I was a wee laddie, I played AdventureQuest with "weekly" updates when the staff would get their act together. Here, Notch seems to care somewhat about us. And it makes me so happy. *sniff*
