I just really want to know what screams "adventure" about Endermen wrecking buildings constantly? I swear, some people can't distinguish challenge and annoyance. It's not challenging to replace a few blocks moved out of a complex redstone creation, just annoying. It's not challenging to fix a wall, and doesn't offer you any more adventure or excitement. If Endermen could phase through your defenses and walls to come wreck you? That could be exciting. That could be a challenge. Moving one of your blocks and giving you the finger is just frustration.
I've sunk a good five hours into pre-release at this point, and I still haven't found a single NPC village or stronghold. Ravines and endless mine shafts on the other hand...
I hope everyone realizes that they're going to eventually have to upgrade their rusty toasters at some point for one reason or another.
You can't expect developers to keep machines that were already low-end in 2001 in mind when it's almost 2012. That isn't to say Notch shouldn't add the fog toggle back in (he definitely should). Keep in mind though that this is a beta, and as such, minimum system requirements are subject to change.
Why does every child feel that they "deserve" to get something because someone else might get something? Pathetic.
What are retail buyers going to get then? Since beta buyers would be "getting something special" now, to make things "fair" in your eyes, why not even it out and make something special just for retail buyers too? Then everyone can feel special and loved and warm and fuzzy. Or y'know, we can realize that we have no information whatsoever yet on if Notch is going to add to the game anyway, or if he'll even charge for additions yet. "But we want to feel special too!" Tough cookies. The real world doesn't work like that. You don't get stuff just because someone else is getting something. Learn to deal with it or become a hermit, completely removed from society. Notch is going to honor his alpha agreement, but the beta agreement is not the same, thus Notch has no obligation or reason to extend his generosity (even though I heard he originally wanted to, but was advised against it).
Other than console fanboyism, who cares which console it comes out on? We're already playing on PC, so what does it matter if Minecraft does or doesn't get released for the PS3?
I've been reading some of these posts, and I believe that some people were saying that if you bought in Beta, you have to buy the game again after it is released? I certainly hope that this isn't the case...
No. If you bought in beta, you receive all content up to release for free, as well as the actual release of the game. The only thing alpha accounts get that beta accounts don't is the possibility to get free expansions and downloadable content -if Notch ever decides to charge for any of it-.
For all we know, all future updates could be free anyway. Nobody will know what Notch has planned until it actually happens, so these threads are really silly.
The answer is simple. Alpha buyers are better people, make more money, drive nicer vehicles, have more attractive partners and have larger genitals. It's quite obvious, and it's all science.
Off-topic, I have kittens crawling up my bare legs to cuddle on my lap. They're far too adorable to be angry at though.
Wow, how smart. Everyone in this ****ing world lives in ****ing U.S.A./Canada/Europe. Get off your chair and into the real world. Some people are kids, some are in an underdeveloped country, and some can't afford it. Unless you're a racist fag, then shut up.
Kids can save up money by doing odd jobs around their community. Seriously, it wouldn't even take a day to raise that drop of cash.
People in underdeveloped countries? If their lives are so crappy that they can't afford to pay up for a service, they shouldn't be wasting their time on a video game. Why would they even have a PC to play the game on, or net to pirate it if they're so bad off? They should stop wallowing in self pity and go out to do something to improve their life. Hard work pays off. Sitting around crying and making excuses will only keep those countries underdeveloped.

I already have the game on my PC. Why would I want to load it up on my console, which would most definitely have modding restrictions?
