just want to hop in and say that I love your cave generation. I'm playing on a survival world that I built in the program, and I have the caves set on medium density-ish, and the result has been large, single caverns that are AWESOME for building in, mining out or decorating.

It's great. So awesome job on that feature.

    About You
Describe your experience with Minecraft servers: In a word: disappointing. Most minecraft communities are made up of immature children which, while I don't inherently have a problem with (it is a game for kids as well as adults), I haven't found too many servers that are free from this element. Additionally, I'm really tired of servers selling mod rights, though the EULA update seems to be taking care of that. Hoping this server will be someplace that I can enjoy playing on.
Have you ever been banned? No.
Would you be interested in participating in our Community Projects (villages, towns, cities)? Sure. I'd be more interested then building/leading my own than joining another, though.

I look forward to trying out this server :)

I never used them anyway, usually I just find lava pools while mining for diamonds, and pour water on it.

I think it's more a question of "can you" than "do you want to." I've seen enormous mob farms for everything from zombies to endermen, and automated cane/wheat farms with a net yield in the hundreds. You'd never NEED anything like that, but having it there is something that some people enjoy creating once they've mastered their survival world.

Unfortunately, that didn't fix the problem. The version of java offered on that troubleshooting page is out of date, but I downloaded it an installed it anyway. Uninstalled update 55 (so that just the offered update 45 was running), deleted and redownloaded minecraft with only 45 installed. Tried at least half a dozen different amounts above 1G but below 4 (what I understand to be my max) in the code exception line.

Something else I noticed: when I F3 in game, before it crashes, it never approaches 100% used memory (the one that's moving), but no matter what I put in as the java exception, the allocated memory amount stayed the same. The allocated memory amount was also much lower (about 30%) of what the moving number's total memory was. As a result, the game always crashed at about 33%.

Got anything else? I'd frickin download Hamachi and let someone else do it for me at this point, I just want to play minecraft -_-

Bumping, still an issue at 1.7.9. Thought I'd wait to see if an update fixed it - it hasn't.

    Help please?

Need some help troubleshooting this. My minecraft has been sporadically freezing/crashing (not responding/force close) since April Fools day. Before that, or at least, a week or so before that, it worked fine.

This is the error it gives me at the end of the log when it closes:

[12:26:37 ERROR]: Game ended with bad state (exit code -805306369)
    [12:26:37 INFO]: Deleting C:\Users\X\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.7.5\1.7.5-natives-10024411356888
[12:26:37 WARN]: Couldn't delete C:\Users\X\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.7.5\1.7.5-natives-10024411356888 - scheduling for deletion upon exit
[12:26:37 INFO]: Ignoring visibility rule and showing launcher due to a game crash

It is the only error recorded as an error in the log. This happens at worst, every 30 seconds or so, at best (my record) was once per 15 minutes. It usually happens after about 1 minute of play, but there's no definite time, it just happens. It seems to tend towards movement - I loaded up a flatworld and was able to play for some time (was programming command blocks) while sitting still. Once I started moving around (not that much, mind, only about 30 blocks), it crashed a moment later.

    What I've tried so far:
    • Closing all programs, then reinstalling the latest version of java (5.1, windows 7) - no success, although I did find that I had overlapping -Xdj-whatever-the-code-was to allocate max memory. I got rid of any mention of those, deleting them from my environmentals, and tried again. No luck.
    • Deleting and redownloading .minecraft, both before and after java reinstalls. No luck.
    • Playing on a new world (crashed almost immediately), a server (crashed almost as fast) and a copy of my old world from 1.7.2 (the flatworld mentioned). No luck.
    • Played an older version of minecraft (1.7.2) and it worked. Except it's an older version, so that sucks, considering I'm using command blocks.

I am completely and totally stumped here. It's not like 1.7.5 wasn't working, either, I was able to play on it prior to the April Fools update, but now that it's passed (all the sounds are gone, etc.), my game won't work.

    My system specs:

Intel CPU, 2.3 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 64 bit windows 7.
Java is conflicting, and that confuses me: according to my browser, I'm running the latest version (1.7.0 51) but according to the control pannel, my version is 1.7.0_06. Iunno. I swear I updated it and everything, can't imagine why they'd be different.

Thanks in advance for the help.

As you can see, or... as I hope you can see, it's not receiving any current. It's actually floating in midair. And yet it won't retract.

Go figure, this is the last panel on a door I was wiring, and I'd rather not have to do it all again. I cannot get the piston to respond to any change - even placing and flicking a lever on it doesn't produce any notable results.

Help? Is there any way that I can fix it? Tried rebreaking it and replacing it, with the same result, as well as any blocks around it. I've covered it in every direction, no change.

Iunno. You were looking for ideas, figured I'd pitch it :)

OptiFine and Forge have always worked fine together for me. Show a screenshots of BOTH your "Mods" Tab AND "Advanced" Tab in Magic Launcher's Setup.

Here's a sample of them working together perfectly with Version 1.6.2 of Minecraft. Sorry, I'm just showing the "Mods" Tab here at the moment.

    :)

After reading through your tooltips that you've posted above, I've successfully started minecraft using both optifine and forge. A key point for me was that I didn't run the default launcher after installing forge, I ran magiclauncher with optifine, then installed forge and ran magiclauncher again. This probably caused problems. In addition, I didn't have anything in my parameters field, and I do now. Either way, it's running. Time will tell if other mods work (namely betterworldgen, which caused problems last time), but for now I can at least get the game open. You've been a tremendous help, thank you.

Friendly note to everyone installing mods, or everyone in general, really. When you're testing a launcher or a mod, and need to exit for whatever reason, make sure to exit properly. For whatever reason, if you just hit the red X in the corner like you're closing a browser or whatever, the java sometimes fails to terminate properly. I'm not sure if it's just my computer or if it's systemwide, but can sometimes tend to cause gigantic problems. Essentially, you've closed the windows but if you were to open your control panel, the process has not been terminated and must be done manually (it'll be the java that's running 300,000k or more, generally).

    ...this has been a PSA.

Aside from this, still having issues with running optifine and forge at the same time. Couldn't do it at all with 1.6.2, figured I'd wait till 1.6.4 and the new version would see the problem fixed. Guess not. If someone could help me out with this:
