Minecraft 1.12 to 1.13 is a huge transition as they changed how the world is stored greatly. It will take a lot of time for tools like MCEDIT to be changed to work with 1.13 worlds.
It crashed when I logged in and turned around. So I reverted to the previous snapshot and removed all the item frames from the walls. Went back to 14w18a and now it does not crash.
When this mod is in the mods directory and on a large world it lags a lot, it does not crash though. When I remove the mod it goes away. Does anyone know why this would be? What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

The guy who wrote the email was lying.
He is not the author of any mod, and certainly not potioncraft. Potioncraft does not have enchanting tables and brewing stands.
If you take what some random dude says in email to Notch to be true and never question it? What are you mad?

Check through those, you won't find it.

There appear to be 2 different versions of the patch by 2 different people. However I believe both use the same method.

You played a previous map, then created the new map with the same name. Some elements copied over from the old map.
When you portal to the nether it creates a second gate sometimes when you portal back.
Therefore that gate could have been created by a nether portal from a previous map that you overwrote.
