This....this ....this is beyond win. Are there going to be additional cutouts for mobs, and villagers? (When Notch decides to update the skins to something more random and varied..)

I have no experience with creating scripts or mods with java so I'm putting this out there as an idea to see what the modding community can come up with. I have no intention to abuse the mod, but had in mind to see if it were possible to make it usable with bukkit for a small community server. (20 players in size.)

Now, in Pern there is a cycle of deadly rainfall that devours living tissue exposed to it. Plants and trees evolved on the planet to avoid being destroyed, but the "threadfall" is predicted by the positions and cycles of the moon. Sometimes it falls out of synch and is difficult to track but generally it's predictable much like rainfall might be.

Now my question is, would it be possible to make the rainfall act as "threadfall" would on rare occassion? Killing exposed creatures and humans (players) if they are not in secured shelter? (I.e. cobblestone/smoothstone/under a tree-lumber built homes)


And if so, is there anyone that is willing to make this a bukkit mod for a small multiplayer community? I know it sounds crazy but it goes with a theme I had been working on for a while now and honestly, I couldn't beat my way out of a plastic bag with java.

I'm also on the hunt for a dragon mod that might fit the Pernese theme. And for those that are curious as to what the heck Pern is. Here.

I hadn't been able to get in touch with the hosting admin since the basic set up was finished. Ah well..it was good while it lasted.

Alrighty, I'm looking for a non-pvp, friendly, rp or rp themed community to join. I am an experienced minecrafter, modded for a few servers that faded out without so much as a squeak, and admined my own for a few months now though it's a home-run project. I don't mind mod restrictions, I only use one on multiplayer anyway and am not expecting to use any sort of cheating mods like flight or any of that non-sense. I'd -love- to find a rp community server that has spots for myself, and two other players around my age that don't frequent the forums here, so here's what I'm doing.

If you have a server to suggest, or a server being started, give me a brief intro, or summary of current standing projects, roleplay themes, or whatever you feel might encourage me to join. (Bribes are not welcome, I'm talking creativity folks.) I generally am seeking a mature community with grief free plugin's and locks for doors and chests, but if there are others out there (You know..for the common sensed folk like me.) please do feel free to plug your server ad here.

So far so good, having issues with installing a trio of plugin's on bukkit, but he's working around it.

I would think, given that Steam is testing out a cloud system for hosting game sessions; it might be an oppurtune time to try it. If Mojang, and Notch has thought of it yet, they could try building a new server tool that allows for the latency to be shared rather than dependent on the main hosts network kind of like how Terarria is set up currently. Just sayin' as an idea..it would be kinda nice to have it that slip stream.

I believe Ascan was speaking with Zen about using his 8gigs host rather than joining someone elses community Grave.

Edit: To contribute, if I did have a server with an active community I'd gladly ask to use this dedicated server, Zen. However the only known active community I'm part of is currently moving to a new host and I don't know when that will be completed. Last I heard, the MG server is holding around 30+ active players...maybe more, a lot of folks got white listed when the server host decided to double charge the owners account in a single month.
