I believe both have already been done. Whether you would get sued or not is up to the courts that deal with trademarking. -
Aug 6, 2011Rhyam posted a message on Bethesda, Mojang & "Scrolls"Copyright, Trademark, both go through the same courts. You got my point however Mrbaggins.Posted in: News

Noone is reading anything in this thread.
You CAN own a word.
Nike owns "Air"
Apple owns... Apple.
Paris Hilton owns "That's hot!"
Donald Trump couldn't get "You're fired" because it was too similar to the already owned "You're hired"
End result of all of this is nothing will happen, this is the way TM laws work. Stop bitching about it and read some info before going all "ZOMG NEVER BUYING GAMES FROM THESE PEOPLE AGAIN!!!!111One"
Actually some people are reading it, and finding themselves fairly pissed off that Bethesda would do something so utterly stupid to begin with. There is no copyright on "Scrolls" and Mojang is working towards copyrighting it, even if Bethesda contests it. There is no way either game name is similar, only by one single word. If they really want to play hardball, power to em, but in the end, it's the legal systems between both game company's that will battle it out. I must admit, it is pretty ****ed they would do that. -
Aug 6, 2011Rhyam posted a message on Bethesda, Mojang & "Scrolls"I'd like to see this said entitlement to the word "Scrolls". Personally I think they are blowing smoke up Mojang's **** because they are beginning to prove to be potential competition in the gaming industry.Posted in: News

Now, in Pern there is a cycle of deadly rainfall that devours living tissue exposed to it. Plants and trees evolved on the planet to avoid being destroyed, but the "threadfall" is predicted by the positions and cycles of the moon. Sometimes it falls out of synch and is difficult to track but generally it's predictable much like rainfall might be.
Now my question is, would it be possible to make the rainfall act as "threadfall" would on rare occassion? Killing exposed creatures and humans (players) if they are not in secured shelter? (I.e. cobblestone/smoothstone/under a tree-lumber built homes)
And if so, is there anyone that is willing to make this a bukkit mod for a small multiplayer community? I know it sounds crazy but it goes with a theme I had been working on for a while now and honestly, I couldn't beat my way out of a plastic bag with java.
I'm also on the hunt for a dragon mod that might fit the Pernese theme. And for those that are curious as to what the heck Pern is. Here.

If you have a server to suggest, or a server being started, give me a brief intro, or summary of current standing projects, roleplay themes, or whatever you feel might encourage me to join. (Bribes are not welcome, I'm talking creativity folks.) I generally am seeking a mature community with grief free plugin's and locks for doors and chests, but if there are others out there (You know..for the common sensed folk like me.) please do feel free to plug your server ad here.
TL;DR: Player age 31 seeking rp themed server to join, 2 players might follow, both over the age of 20.

Edit: To contribute, if I did have a server with an active community I'd gladly ask to use this dedicated server, Zen. However the only known active community I'm part of is currently moving to a new host and I don't know when that will be completed. Last I heard, the MG server is holding around 30+ active players...maybe more, a lot of folks got white listed when the server host decided to double charge the owners account in a single month.

Name: Melisa (Rhyam)
Age: 31
Server Idea: Small roleplay community server, themed after Dragonriders of Pern.
Server plan: Starting small, only needing hosting for about 5 to 10 players. If interest grows we plan to expand to 15 and more if group payment is offered by the host.
Past experience(provide proof): Home hosted server for upwards to four months now, no proof to give besides some screenshots of the under water hold I was building before we decided to shut it down. http://curiouslymyown.imgur.com/minecraft#4xOrp
If selected do you have skype?(Yes/No) Yes.
