They don't go down all the way until I press it again, and the fences come down to push them down. Let me look over my repeaters again, to be sure I copied your repeater pattern. And this is on singleplayer for now, but I want to build it on a server.
EDIT
My repeaters were exactly like yours; still happened. Not sure what could be the problem. I will rebuild it again.
That is fantastical news! I'm going to go try it right now! Thank you so much Hexalobular! My castle will actually look 10000x better with this.
(And yea, whenever I activated my gate, for some reason it would switch random repeaters to different delays. I have no idea why, but that was the final straw for me, decided to get some help. )
EDIT
It works! The gravel doesn't retract until the fences push it down, but at this point I do not care! I have a working gate! Thank you so much Hexalobular!
No, that was not me. I wish I had seen it before I spent time making this.
Well, that is part of the problem. I did search up how to make a working portcullis on 1.15 but nothing seems to come up, so I was hoping someone here on the forums knew of one or could help me figure out how to fix it for 1.15.
My original gate is on a server which I do not own, but I can replicate the problem on SP. How would I go about sharing my world with you when I'm done with it?
I'm trying to create a working portcullis for my castle, but I can't seem to figure out what I could be doing wrong. I've tried so many tutorials on youtube, but when the bottom half works, the top half does not, or when it does, each piston works separately and will repeat forever. I'm trying to make it so one lever can open and close the gate (on each side of the gate).
Does anyone know how to make this work in the Java Edition, 1.15.2? I'd be really grateful for any assistance, as I've been at this for nearly two days!
Well, currently the most common plugin used is called "LuckPerms". It is compatible with both Paper and Spigot, and can be found on the Spigot website: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/luckperms-an-advanced-permissions-plugin.28140/ Prior to this, the most common plugin was called "Permissions Ex". Unfortunately, it was abandoned long ago.
I would suggest pairing LuckPerms with the EssentialsX plugin, which is the current iteration of Essentials. It overrides most of the vanilla commands, and adds proper support for a permission plugin. You can find it here: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/essentialsx.9089/ It's worth noting that 1.15.2 support for EssentialsX is still in development builds, found on their Jenkins listed on the Spigot page. The latest 'release' build is still only for 1.14.4, so make sure to grab the correct version.
Once you have both EssentialsX and LuckPerms, you would just need to add the permission node "essentials.tp" to the default group. Bear in mind that doing this will allow all players to teleport to any coordinates, and any other players at will. So, I would suggest manually adding the permission to players you trust rather than allowing it globally. If this isn't a concern however, then by all means do the former.
If you decide against using EssentialsX, then the vanilla permission node is instead "minecraft.command.teleport". Either way, this node can be added via ingame command or via the config files. I would suggest using the ingame command, due to the tab complete support - it makes it much easier, and quicker. Please see the well documented wiki pages for the command syntax linked on the Spigot page.
(Source: I've been doing Minecraft server management since 2012; still doing it to this day.)
Hopefully this helps.
Holy bananas! Thank you for this! I've been searching since I got my answer, but given that I really know nothing, I couldn't make heads or takes of my google searches! lol
Thank you for providing the links and the commands (and the vanilla alternative, too!), this is beyond helpful. I'm going to pass this to the admins, so we can finally start TPing to all of our bases. The 4k walks are nice and all, but not when you gotta do it a dozen times in one day. xD
Every server should have a plugin for permissions though. Why not get one?
I'm not the admin, just trying to help the admins so that the average player can TP. We don't really understand all this stuff so we thought the mod would handle it. How would I go about looking for these plugins?

Hello,
Okay, I built one of them and uploaded the world. And here is the video I followed (I have tried numerous tutorials after this one):
File: https://gofile.io/?c=nluTXk
It breaks the gravel and doesn't move the top portion when I press the button at the end. So now it looks like it is all screwed up, too.

So then without another mod/plugin that changes the method, the only way to enable this is to make everyone OP so they can use the /tp command? Aww.

Hello and thank you for the reply,
Forgive me for asking this please, but what's the command to allow this?

Is there anyway to allow TP commands for normal players, so that they can tp to their markers? It seems to only work for the admins.
