Troll logic that works in real life, or is it a life hack?

Whatever the case, that is clever.

Well, I only realized that if the backpack broke, I wouldn't be in that bad of a spot if I could just shift my gear to a new one on the go. I don't know, it just came to me.

Take the hiking backpack, if you have the skills, you should be able to get food when you need it, and having something to carry important things is better than having something that can carry more important things but for less time.

Okay, so I decided to use the non-hiking backpack, and simply strap the hiking bag to the outside of that. Problem solved.

Just wanted to update you guys. I just packed my bags for the most part, though I still need a tent and a sleeping bag. I'm also starting to ask around everyone I know to see if I can get a group started. Departure date is still the same, my birthday of this year, which is in 5 months.

Here's something I could use advice on. I have two backpacks, and I have to choose one to take with me. The main aspects I need to choose between are quality and space for supplies. One of the backpacks can hold double the materials the other can hold, but the other is designed for hiking and can withstand more. The backpack with more space will allow me to carry more food and water, allowing me to travel much farther distances without needing to slow down, but on the other hand, if one of the straps breaks while I'm in the middle of nowhere, I'm at a loss. But the other backpack is designed for extended use in hiking through various terrain, so I won't have to worry about that, but it will only hold half as much food and water, so I may be setting myself up for a bad situation. Thoughts, anyone?

Are you looking for advice like survival skills etc..?

Pretty much any and all advice I can get. I'm talking to lots of other people on other sites, and because I'm trying to be smart about this, I'm getting together all the knowledge that I can.

All of this is well and good, but I would really like any advice anyone has to give. Seriously, I'm going through with this, I'm interested to know what common knowledge or common, sensible actions might not be a good idea in certain situations. I don't know everything, but I'm sure some of you may know a little about this. Keep in mind that this is not the only forum that I've posted this thread to.

Rhea, I know how you feel.I live in a town with no roads hardly any shops to buy food, and a tiny house.

I also feel like killing myself.

No, man, I've been down that road and that is not the way to go. Even though I disagree with people on what we should be living for, I understand that there is always a great deal to live for. Never, EVER, give up, and never surrender to your emotions. If you're in a bad situation, then take charge and change that situation. You can always just walk away from a situation if it gets too bad. And that's the truth.

Some people will tell you to always face your problems head on. But the truth of the matter is this, always remember this: If your problems involve the distinct possibility of you ending up dead, then you need to get the hell out of there. Fast.

Don't ever suicide. There's always a way to fix your problems.

Plus, I'm turning 19 in 5 months, I can do what I want with my life. You really don't seem like you're any older than 12. So you aren't old enough to make life decisions.

Stay in school if you believe you don't need it, because you're not the type of person who'd enjoy ending up homeless, and that's how you end up there. God, I hope you're joking, man.

No, it is normal, if you want to live somewhere, do it. Life is short

Well yes, I'm definitely going to do it, now I have to. You at least get it, but some people are so stupid that they don't understand when I'm serious about something, that they don't know me, and that I've been training for years for this. I am being realistic about this, and I'm certainly serious about this. I've seen you on here, and you are a sensible, reasonable, nice person. I've decided not to let certain other terrible, closed-minded people get to me. I've learned to accept that these people are usually much less moronic than they appear, and are never as condescending or spineless as they constantly sound. Remember, the wise man said "Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength". I wonder if anybody likes her, or if this is the only social connection she can make. I certainly feel sorry for neckbeards, even female ones.

    Anyway, here's my plan.

First, I'm going to spend the next 5 months saving up money for my walk. I know for a fact that I can raise $5500 bucks before my deadline (which is my 19th birthday).

I'm going to spend that same amount of time continuing to train, but more than ever before. This means that instead of walking for 3 hours every Sunday, that I'll be walking 8 hours every day. Also, my weight training will become that much more intense.

I'm also going to talk to everyone I know, and see if I can get a group of people to go with me on this.

A week before my 19th birthday, I'll purchase the rest of my gear, and begin tying up loose ends, getting the rest of everything in order.

And on the deadline, I will depart, headed for Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is my first stop.

Read the whole thread and noticed one thing: You just need to go out and do the deed already, seriously.

Why are you here arguing with someone who doesn't agree with you? Why are you in the Off Topic section of a forum based for game for the younger generation? You should actually be looking for a forum for fellows like yourself who have gone through the paces and can offer useful advice for a person in your situation.

There's nothing wrong with having experience and asking for the advice as it helps you continue to learn and grow, but you're going about doing this in the wrong place.

I have already deleted my account here, as I've already done with a facebook and twitter I never used. Well, I've filed a request here. It's going to take a little longer for someone to read my request, and when they have I won't have this account either.

Actually I've posted both of these threads to three different forums. This is actually the one I wasn't expecting anyone to read. :)
