oh, ok, thanks for both the infos

I know this is an old topic, I'm new to the game and heard lots about both. I have been using Rei's on 1.7.2 in my own game (haven't been on multiplayer yet) and it's good, but when I googled "Rei's vs Zan's minimap" without the quotes, the one video that popped up was very helpful and discredits what Sniper said earlier (as of v1.7.2). Yes it has an option for Zan's but I see no difference in anything cept the border of the map. The options just simply are not there that Zan's has, at least from what I can see... I am personally swapping over to Zan's from what the video showed, it actually shows what pigs as a little pink square with a pig nose, so I assume this one will do that for other animals, plus it seems that Zan's will also only show you what is on your level when in a cave...

I know this is an old thread and I'm new to Mincraft (2 days in fact) but I have noticed (playing 1.7.2) Creepers cannot blow up Stone Bricks, where my current house is located is inundated with creepers and they keep blowing up my wood fence, I'm about to try cobblestone fence, will get back to you on that...

not that I need it but the Cheat mode seems to not be working for me, the Icons in the upper left and drag and drop items are not working... is it cause I'm in a regular game? do I need to be in creative?

Edit: Restarted the game, somehow the entire layout has now changed... also looked up on youtube how to fix the cheat option from it not working... now it's working fine, but honestly this new layout is confusing...

I'm using what I assume is the official Forge... I followed those instructions but to no avail

Edit: ohohohoh I got it to work... I missed the 2nd download, I thought it was move the forge files so I used the official forge one, not the patch... I thought that patched file was the forge one so I bypassed that step... IT WORKS!

I'm sorry if this has been covered, I read and did some things you all mentioned, but I cannot get the map to work with Forge 1.7.2, I saw videos and did it their way and it still doesn't work but theirs does... I also have Optifine 1.7.2 and it works with that but not forge... I tried deleting the Meta folder and I tried not deleting it, the game just resets back to the profile/play page with no errors...

I had the same problem with Zan's Minimap, too.

also, just putting it in the mods folder that is created by Forge doesn't work like the videos suggest
