My issue with RotM is that most of the really impressive builds were already copied over from Mindcrack and the gameplay, which is the most unique thing in it, was incredibly lacking as shown in Fangride's review. If you wanna copy builds, I'm fine with that, but you have to make the gameplay good enough to make up for it.
The issue with starting on hard is that, some people (me included), simply aren't very good at minecraft. Minecraft's combat system isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world and, especially in a CTM map, it does take some time to get accustomed to.
Alright, so, I'll be doing a livestream of every map (starting with hoodvire's, orchard's and helium's tonight, maybe split into two streams in one night) starting in about 5 minutes over at www.livestream.com/shinymon
Community Question : Which area, out of every map you've played, has been the most aesthetically pleasing? What about the most balanced? What about your favorite?
Thought it'd be an interesting question. Probably asked already, but oh well.
Alright, so, I'm in the mood for some group play of a CTM map right now. Let's set up a little group or something. First of all, could anyone here host a server? If so, we could do like a 4-5 man runthrough of ED3 or somethin'. It'd be nifty, especially if we could get everyone on skype.
I swear I'm like the only person who didn't die 50 times to the first area of Monstrosity. I died once to Smouldering Ruins, twice to Decaying Laboratory and then pretty much trolled my way to dying 3 times in Evertick (Mostly cause I got lagspikes and fell for the ladder trap)
It only gets tougher later on, tbh. I'm having a bit of trouble with the Arcane Terrorium, but I also haven't played in a while, so we'll see.
Yeah, it makes sense and it's a valid argument. However, I still feel like it'd be nice for new players to have more options to start from. I mean, what bad could come from it, at least? It'd be nice to have more maps like Monstrosity that serve as gateways between the easy stuff and the hard stuff. Anyway, Orchard, when's your map coming? I've been waiting xD

First of all, I wouldn't classify Monstrosity as an easy map to start out in. It's quite tricky at points and, depending on the person, can get really tough. Especially for the beginners. Even counting it, that's 5 maps that you've listed compared to the dozens of CTM maps that aren't geared to beginners. For every map that's geared to new players, there's 5 or 6 that aren't. That's a lack (albeit massive may have been a slight bit too far)
Major, I meant to post it as a quote to your post, but I'm not good at quoting things and since yours was right above me I thought you'd understand xD Sorry, my bad. But yeah, I do agree with you and everything, your wall of text was very good <3
pls dont hate me ;w;
I'd love to play it. I like playing any map, really xD But still, take your pace. It's important not to get too burnt out, or else we could lose you for a much longer amount of time

Will write reviews as I finish them.

Looks nice, but the bridges could use some block variation. It could also use some erosion, I think.

Could you host a server? Firstly, I wanna find a host, then I'll try to figure out who'll be in the group and whatnot.

Also, I'd love to test, Rubisk.

That's not evil. That's simply being kind to the creepers. You wouldn't want to upset creepers, would you?
