Aug 8, 2014Rellik55 posted a message on New Fences? New Gates?Actually, a majority of the team IS working on optimization and stability, but you have to remember that a lot of players are inpatient kids who want more content all the time. Have you not seen the fact that they've almost entirely rewrote the engine? The droves of bug fixes with each snapshot and release? Adding new fences is not going to decrease the stability of the game.... Not to mention the fact that when I bought this game in 2010, I would have NEVER believed someone who told me that it would still be getting regular new content and such four full years later. Minecraft is the single greatest investment in gaming I've ever made, so why complain? If you don't like the new stuff, play the old. I, meanwhile, will enjoy it!Posted in: News

And why piston and beacon's textures are still glitched in inventory? Why do they not fix the most obvious bug?
Sometimes it's not as easy as all of that. I'm sure they're aware the bug exists, but the current way for them to fix it could be causing issues elsewhere, you never know. Better some glitched textures than a completely unworking game. -

The 3D blocks are the result of resource packs, so the option to turn them off is to not download them (or disable them). -

Actually, thanks to the resource pack system, you just download them, put them in the folder, and activate them. They will all work together without having to put them in one folder. -

Barrier block should have a "visible" gamerule like.... /gamerule seeBarrierBlock true
This. Also would be nice to have an option to disable the visible hitbox of barriers! -
Dec 14, 2013Rellik55 posted a message on Saturday with Sach: Whats In a NameMy older IGN's have always been Rellik55, which is "Killer" backward. It was made up in college when my room mates and I would play Halo 2 all the time. Moving on with my life, I've since adopted "Meoco" as a handle, which is "Meow Cow" without the w's, an inside joke from my wife and I being silly when we had first gotten together.Posted in: News

Apr 29, 2013Rellik55 posted a message on The New Minecraft Launcher: What Does It Mean For Minecraft? So, something that I could have sworn I heard about in the past, and haven't heard a single word about since was the move from item/block ID numbers to a naming system, effectively removing ID limits and conflicts... Any news on that at all?Posted in: News

Jan 25, 2013Rellik55 posted a message on Snapshot 13w04a Available for Testing! So I skipped a couple of pages, but after seeing something, I now support the Bonemeal nerf more.... Bonemeal can now be used by dispensers! thanks to more automation, I agree that nerfing it a bit is advisable, although the numbers aren't very well balanced.Posted in: News

wonderful they milk our money further... cmon stop being money whores mojang! The funny thing is i'll prob buy it again. :l
What are you talking about? MCX360? Honestly, I have it, and barely play it, because the PC version is far better. Quicker bug fixes, more releases, and of course, mods.
To Sacheverell, I'm kinda curious as to why the weekly news videos are always like 2-3 days older than the post on MCF. It just seems kinda strange to me, is all. -

Mojang adds 1.4 mod api to xbox version, guy makes mod, uploads to market place. Guy on xbox goes to market place, downloads mod FOR FREE. He then goes to minecraft , there is a button labeled "add mod" that brings up a list of downloaded mods, and selects one.
Minecraft then applies the mod.
That's my idea on how it should work, and Microsoft please, USER MADE mods should be FREE.
Unfortunately, the marketplace doesn't work like that. You can't just upload user-made content to the XBLA Marketplace.... what they SHOULD do is work with mod authors to license their mods for MCX360, through an application process. Say you want your mod on MCX360, you turn in an application detailing your mod, its popularity, and its impact on the game and/or community. Mojang/4J review it, and then release mods via DLC, with several mods bundled per download, every one compatible with each other via a form of the mod API specific to MCX360, and as mentioned before, have a menu that can turn mods on and off (I'd also suggest making world saves dependent on the mods started with them, to avoid issues with mod items/blocks not being there/corrupting).
And as far as paying for mods goes, I'd pay a few Microsoft points to get awesome mods on my Xbox, ESPECIALLY if at least part of the money made from them is given to the original mod authors. -

-Instead of a "leash," make it a lasso, with a mechanic similar to fishing poles, so you can catch mobs from afar.
-Make horses run away from you, similar to ocelots, making using a lasso more interesting
-I feel like 2 entire wool blocks should make more than 1 tiny fragment of a block (crafting needs more balance)
-Make all mobs compatible with the lead/leash
-Slow the horses down, and give them a sprinting capability instead of just always being fast
-leash/lasso should be crafted from rope, made from string, because the current leashing mechanic is too OP to have it be something simple (walking a mob from one place to another without worrying so much about losing it like with wheat should be a privilege. )
This is all just opinion, obviously, but I think some others may agree. I also like the boat/anchor idea!
Also, for anyone curious, the .jar is in .minecraft/versions! I saw a post wondering, but didn't see a post answering, so there you go. lol
