posted a message on A few strange problems with my new server.

    Version # 1.8.8

Okay, so I had one heck of a time setting up a server yesterday with the .exe. I finally switched to the .jar and it worked. My sister and I played for a little while.

Today, I have issues. Here is what happens:

    I turn my server on.

    I connect to it.

    "Downloading Terrain."

    "Time out."

    I try again.

    I connect to my server.

    My server window completely closes.

    I disconnect.

I don't know why this happens. The only thing I did today was increase the allocated memory to the server to 4G. I've since lowered it back to 1G to see if that was the issue (it was not).

There is a crash log here if anyone wants to read this mumbo-jumbo: http://pastie.org/10410736

    And here is the log:

[15:25:17] [Server Watchdog/FATAL]: A single server tick took 60.00 seconds (should be max 0.05)
[15:25:17] [Server Watchdog/FATAL]: Considering it to be crashed, server will forcibly shutdown.
[15:25:17] [Server Watchdog/ERROR]: This crash report has been saved to: C:\Users\Craig\Desktop\Minecraft Server\.\crash-reports\crash-2015-09-10_15.25.17-server.txt
    [15:25:17] [Server Shutdown Thread/INFO]: Stopping server[/pre]

I thought I should increase the memory on my Minecraft, so I tried but I can not launch the game.

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for 2097152KB object heap
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: Using incremental CMS is deprecated and will likely be removed in a future release

So I think I dig myself into a hole. Any ideas? I feel like it's mostly server related issues and I tried searching, but nothing comes up.

Yeah it does look a little pale compared to a normal creeper. But in a way, for a plush toy, the slightly lighter green works really well anyway. But it does look awesome, your sister should be proud.
    Thanks! She is :)

It looks kinda pale, maybe it saw Herobrine.
But still, it is quite good.

    A bit, yeah. :)

That is pretty cool. How much $$$ did it take to make it?
I have no idea, but I know it wasn't as much money as it was work ;)

This is a creeper plush my sister made. It took a lot of work, and she's proud of it. It's so cuddly :D

posted a message on Recording Minecraft: I'm doing it wrong
I have 8GB. I started at 4GB, and moved up for trouble shooting. I know 7GB is overkill, just testing.

The thing I don't like about fraps is you can't use custom codes or mess around with advanced options.

    Inten i4 3.2 GHz Processor
    8GM Ram
Not sure what other specs you need to know.Adding 4GB to Java seems to help, I get about 99FPS while fraps is open and 88FPS while recording. Thanks

I must be doing something wrong, because I get lag when I record... heck, I get lag even with fraps open but not recording. I have allocated 7GB of ram to Java, and I have an Intel i5 processor and a Nvidia Geforce 310 512mb graphic card (I guess that's good... I dunno).

The video looks "OK" when playing back (i.e. it's not laggy, but not perfect). Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

By all means I never, ever want to discourage creativity, but it seems a bit small and simple. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing egregious about it, and it's certainly residing on the good side of the spectrum. Perhaps some variation on the outside, and maybe a side graveyard to boot?

I've added graveyards since, and I am slowly working on adding more buildings all around it. :wink.gif: I think this took me 6+ hours

    Thanks for comments!

This is a church I made today, it took about 4 hours in total. It's by far the largest thing I have ever made in Minecraft! It has a completed interior, bell tower you can climb, and a huge basement you can explore.

That's pretty sweet, I haven't checked out the new snapshot so I haven't gotten a chance to see what the jungles are actually like.
They are my favorite biome so far.

And thanks for the comments guys!
