I cant get CIT working for the water breathing potion.

I've had this same problem prior to 1.8.
Is it a bug in the CIT or is there another way to do it?

I also attempted to apply it via the numbers IDing each potion type, which also did not work.

posted a message on Custom Item Models for Potions/Enchanting Books?
Just to clarify, yes, I can extract the image the vanilla minecraft is using for enchanting books and potions. That doesn't do anything for me than replace the really nice textures I've got to replace those image files.

What I wanted to know, which was answered and as not currently possible, is whether or not the json files that are used to modify blocks and some items through resource packs could be used to target specific varieties of potions and enchanting books. MC Patcher had a method with metadata, but I was hoping this was no longer necessary and possible to do in vanilla minecraft. I noticed the Conquest resource pack (and a few others I forgot) have some pretty cool things they've pulled off using the vanilla model and block state files, but it looks like they're still too limited for what I wanted.

Thank you so much for this pack!

I actually have a friend who's colorblind (I can never remember the official name) where he sees reds as really dark browns and blacks sometimes. I often edited packs for him by just shifting colors so he never felt left out, then me and my friends would play on servers with the same one. :) I don't think these will simulate his experience exactly, but it allows me to better fix and interpret what he's seeing so as to fix problems.

posted a message on Custom Item Models for Potions/Enchanting Books?
Searched, but couldn't find any similar questions/answers.

With 1.8 custom models for items and blocks, can we assign them to specific potion types or enchanting book types?

In some resource packs MC Patcher enabled this ability with the CTI mod built in, but they obviously won't work now until it gets updated to 1.8. I was hoping someone might know if it's possible to do that in vanilla with the new features. Like having a water breathing potion have a different texture to a harm potion, and the same for enchanting books. Seems like it could be possible, but maybe not just yet. Anyone?

Even the mirror link doesn't work, so something's up and it may be either that website or the host itself. Either way, the downloads stopped working for me at some point and I don't know what could have changed except for the new website design...? It's been a while since I last updated...

I'm looking at the way some folks did animated painting textures. Now I'm pretty sure MCPatcher doesn't support random CTM for paintings, or even biome-specific paintings, but animations could be used to sort of extend painting options.

My question is would it be weird for paintings to have the frame stay the same, but after, say, ten minutes the picture suddenly changes? It would be jarring to witness it or see it out of the corner of your eye, but would it be that bad? Ideally, you wouldn't notice it and you just walk in to a room and suddenly you have new paintings.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

Heyyyy, seems like the download link is locking up or something again. Is your site's download server down or something? Because I'm having the same issues as a while back where I had to use a proxy just to download from your site. Except this time it's not working anyway. The download links certainly "start" in that they try to access your site, but they won't ever start a download much less do anything else but sit there thinking. Eventually, they just give a timeout error if they do anything at all.

Doesn't matter if it's adfly or not (which I suspected it was initially) as your hymns of conquest file, which gets directly linked to, also has the same issue.

Edit: Since I'm at a loss as to the direct cause, having tried multiple different methods, is there any way you can host the file on another website? Anywhere else would probably work.

Hey, y'all. Did some random GUI edits. I would post the anvil one, but I borrowed a tiny piece from another pack and don't feel like getting permission. Y'alls loss.
Here's the new ones. Text sections may not match vanilla or new text. I renamed some blocks for my own purposes. Download the zip instead of the pics,http://s000.tinyuplo...113169478073479

@Reinharted sadly the server im hosting the files on has a weird ip that conflictwith computers that have hamachi installed thats probably the reason why you couldnt download the pack~~. On the other hand i wanted to set a second download with dropbox, but apparently dropbox blocks your account when you have too much traffic >_> and every other filehoster i know doesnt give the option to update a file instead of uploading it as a whole.
If you know of a good alternative to dropbox or something please let me know =)

Unfortunately, I don't know of any alternatives off hand. There's always those "top 20 file host" lists, but that's a lot of work to shift through all the different ones.

I think if you really want to keep it just one file you update, then just make a note in the OP below the download link about the situation. Odd that hamachi would cause it, but maybe have something like:
"There is a server conflict with computers using hamachi. If you are unable to download, try copying the download link and pasting it into proxy.org."

Not an ideal solution, but it's better than nothing. I'm sure there's something that could be done with hamachi itself, but this is faster.

Just wanted to let you and perhaps other users know that for some reason your site is...blocked? I think it's blocked, since I couldn't access it at all, and a friend in an entirely different part of the same country also could not access the download/site. However, I was able to get around this by using a proxy from proxy.org. Not exactly ideal, but it might help to consider hosting the file in a secondary location. Otherwise, potentially a large chunk of people may not have access to your texture pack at all without resorting to proxys as I did.
    Just a heads up.

I have no idea why it would be blocked though. Perhaps my ISP doesn't like the site, though I doubt it. Could be an inter-country thing too, since German copyright law is different and for whatever reason the site's being blocked under some bizarre system put in place to keep US users out...? I doubt it, but I honestly have no clue.

posted a message on Clock Tower (Steampunk Themed)
    Quote from Sir Guinea Pig

Then you don't know what steampunk is. Steampunk = Victorian science fiction. The structure is primarily Victorian influence, with some sci-fi elements, such as the redstone controlled lighting. So please, know what your talking about before you comment...

Actually, it resembles Art Deco more than the Victorian styles of the time, which admittedly did include ecclecticism. The clock tower itself, as an object, predates the victorian era by at least a century if not more as I recall the Renaissance being when they began starting these sorts of civic projects. Urbanization, and civic duty, all that good stuff.

Now for your design. I recognize you're attempting the style of Big Ben, but the minimalist yet strong lines and facade of grey is more suited to Art Deco. If you had incorporated more whites and light greys, it'd be even more so. The vertical lines emphasize art deco the most.
    http://www.shutterst...ew-zealand.html
Here's an example of the art deco look.

If you'd like to imitate Big Ben's style more, I'd suggest looking at ways to make it appear more gothic, as was the style of the architect who built it. He was very against the neo-classical or anything else seen as "pagan" in origin.

In comparison, the top is much more vertical and pointed. You could get some of this effect by adding a line of fences with higher fencing on the corners.

I don't know about the texture pack for use, but consider having the same circle square of gold that the original has. Fill in behind those dark vertical lines with a light stone of some kind and leave a few windows in place to help it have the vertical lines but de-emphasize them. You've already built it out of grey stone, so at best you're going to get by with a desaturated dark blue roof. IT's best if you had a nice tan stone to work with from the beginning though. Also, keep in mind the roof needs a sloped curve where it moves inwards a lot at first before climbing higher, as was the theme for gothic architecture.

Alternatively, go art deco and have more pointed strong lines climbing up past the clock face on to the roofing. You can have statues of people below for added art deco-ness.

It's not bad at all, but not quite there for Victorian. Close though! A few adjustments to the roof and de-emphasizing the dark lines would be enough to get it on track for Big Ben-esque appearances. Don't forget the fences as spikes!

Mini-Update. I diagnosed the problem by accident. Turns out my firewall was wreaking havoc on more than just MCEdit. It screwed up my flash editor, music player, and many other programs too. So, there is a chance that if someone has this program no longer working randomly with no known changes with their computer, it could be their firewall. Mine was ZoneAlarm, which worked great for me up until recently. Replacing that with another firewall fixed a huge mess on my computer.

It wasn't even drivers at all.

Since MCEdit is written in Python using OpenGL, it is quite trivial to port it to most modern operating systems, that have necessary support for these two languages.
    Underline "modern".

Nnnnot sure you're really getting what I just said and are still assuming I'm not aware of the hardware issue.
Suggesting a PC and saying the OS essentially doesn't matter suggests hardware is more important.
But whatever, this is off topic.

You're missing the point. The difference between Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6 is not just operating system. But hardware as well. It's fundamentally different.

While I didn't directly state that hardware was an equal culprit, it is heavily inferred by suggesting they get a PC and stating OSs other than windows are options if they don't want windows.
