@68x, do you have a general estimate of how long before you have a windows version? I can't wait to mess around in Alpha again, it brings so many memories!
Why would you take this idea...? Be creative. There's loads of other things you can do with your server, but you're living in the shadows of successful Minecrafters
Well, I've been thinking. In early stages of Minecraft, you were able to break monster spawners, collect them, and replace them as pig spawners. It would be so awesome if someone were to make a mod like this, since it's not likely Jeb will be adding it any time soon. Of course, the mod would need certain restrictions, like the spawner could only be replaced once. Tell me what you guys think. :smile.gif:
I know this is late, but the whistle would be used by right-clicking, just as most items are used. There would actually be a whistle you can craft using semi-rare ores and materials, given the usefulness of it.
So lately I've been doing a lot of mining, and I've pretty much decided that branch-mining (otherwise known as strip-mining) is the most effective for me. I have 2 set-ups for my branch mine systems.
So with that, I developed an inventory specifically designed for gaining iron. It goes pretty much like this:
I start off with about four iron picks, a couple of shovels, torches, a sword, food (since stupid Notch added hunger), some wooden planks, and a bucket of water (depending on what level I'm mining at). My goal is to find 12 iron to replace the 4 picks that I made, and any iron or other ores I find after that is my profit. Hence the name "Mining Profit". With my inventory, I went out and mined for about 2 minutes. The results:
As you can see, I gained 14 iron, 44 redstone, and some diamond. To determine your profit, just subtract 12 from the amount of iron you found. That's your profit. So, 14-12=2 iron profit. That's o.k., but you can do a lot more in about 10 minutes. Try it out for yourself! Who knows, maybe you'll like it. :tongue.gif:

[Edit] I realize that the page says to "read the directions," but I can't find any specific installation directions.

Ok, thanks
Ummm, that's not what I'm talking about.Unless you can pick up spawners, then yes, that's awesome.
