I'm uncertain why Steve is the only character in the minecraft universe that can have an impact on the world around him at will. I've been itching for a mob that will not be stopped by simply placing some blocks in between you and it.
To rectify the issue of random misplacement and my craving for a more driven adversary than a creeper, I propose that Enderman only start moving blocks when they are blocks in the way of getting to you. In other words, he'll carve right through a wall to get to you if you **** it off. Oh, and actually do a threatening amount of damage.
That would be terrifying, and completely avoidable. If it destroys your structure trying to get to you, it was your fault.
Just out of curiosity, and maybe I just don't see the big picture - what's stopping someone from breaking the block(s) next to the pressure plate and destroying the redstone underneath?
Now what if you're on a server and you don't have access to the world file to use the app? Is it just trial and error at that point?
I picked a random spot, dug straight down to bedrock and made a large open room, but no dice. I guess I have to just keep doing that until I get lucky...
How large is a 'chunk'?
Maybe I just start making long branches out from the pit I made until one branch starts spawning slimes. :dry.gif:
Not a big fan of the brown mushroom. Also, in terms of NPC villages, I hope those houses aren't just scattered about all over the place, and they're generally concentrated in particular areas instead.
I'm liking the big red mushroom though.
Seems like theres several gray brick textures in that second image. 1) Mossy, 2) Plain 3) Cracked
And yes, in that second image, there's also a metal gate, and what looks like quarter-block!
Seriously, im a bit disappointed with the pistons. First off you cant crush with them, was looking foward to being able to harvest or something with them with the crush feature. Second you can only push up to 12 blocks...whats the point of being able to build or repair with pistons if you can easily repair quicker yourself.
They move blocks. That's all they needed to do. How are they useless?
1) You can now control the flow of water.
2) You can hide passage ways.
3) You can create traps that consist of more than drowning.
4) You can control the flow of lava.
And that's just a fraction of the possibilities without using them myself. It's the first real mechanical block. There's a myriad of uses for it outside of your little box :smile.gif:
Short answer: no. They can't make an update to fix something on your computer. The save data is corrupted, and there's nothing anyone can do about it at this point. Unless someone who knows more about this than I do comes along with a way to fix it, the only thing to do now is start over, and make constant backups of your saves to make sure this doesn't happens again.
What if someone were to use worldedit and removed the offending block(s)?
Isn't that the point of a forum? A central location to discover and discuss information about the forum's purpose for being created in the first place, ie. Minecraft?
On topic, great news on the modes, I think it's a necessary direction to go. Thanks for posting this stuff here.
How come the creator of minecraft takes 20x as long to make anything for it while people, who make mods, that add WAY more then notch has ever added, can add stuff to minecraft in almost no time at all?

I'm personally not looking forwards to NPC villages. For me, Minecraft is me, alone, trying to make the best of my world not some brain-dead NPC continually stealing my trees.
They don't need to push dispensers. Put the dispenser down, with a sticky piston two blocks down and in front of it. Attach a block to the sticky piston, and turn it 'on'. The piston covers up the dispenser with a block.
From what I understand, when you start a new world it may not necessarily generate a completely new world from scratch, and actually may use chunks from other worlds you have saved.
This isn't the first post where a user has reported torches or some type of structure, like a ladder or planks, appearing in their newly generated world.
So, it's possible that the torches you are seeing, are actually torches you have placed in a previous saved world in which the chunk they were in has carried over.
I've been checking this thread compulsively every day - welcome back, and thanks for the update :biggrin.gif:
I keep asking... and only because I love the pack... any chance on 'blockier' cobblestone and sandstone? Or perhaps the option?
If not, I suppose my other question would be, how could I match the style to make it myself (and not distribute :smile.gif:)? I have Photoshop and Illustrator - I'd probably need a tablet and stylus to properly match the quality to the rest of the pack. :sad.gif:
Can't wait to install the update :smile.gif: Thanks again.

Then, answer your own question.
