    RedSkyz's Staff Application
    Name: Nirav

Position you're interested in: Moderator / Forum Moderator

    Minecraft Username: RedSkyz

    Age: 18

Timezone and Location (City): Canada EST Time Zone

Do you have TeamSpeak 3 installed and a microphone?: Yes

What days are you online?: 7 days

How many hours for those days?: 8+ hours every day I can put into the server.

    Are you multilingual?: Yes

When did you start playing Minecraft?: Over 4 Years ago.

What kind of previous experience have you had moderating games/servers?: I have an incredible amount of past experience for servers. I'll start back in 2010 when I used to play Classic Minecraft. Me and an IRL friend owned a Classic Minecraft server and it ended up becoming very popular with some decent builds on it. Actually, I have some pictures saved of my builds way back then! Good memories, nonetheless. That was really the start of my minecraft career. Shortly after that server, I built my own PC and was able to play SMP alpha minecraft. That was the coolest thing in the world and it blew my mind that I could build with all my friends. Again, me and a friend opened up a survival server. That specific server didn't get very popular, simply because I wasn't aware of many advertisement methods, plus it was mainly for me and close friends to have fun on. The next big server I was in was early 2011 in Weja's Fair World. It was a jobs survival server and the owner of it ended up handing admin over to me because of my expertise with website design, graphics design, and general plugin knowledge. I ruled that server with an iron fist and made it GREAT! I played that until mid-2011 and got bored of minecraft and took a month break.

After a month or so break I started getting into factions and pvp servers. I joined AttackCraft and was the first moderator to be promoted on it. I was then the first admin, and the first and only co-owner to be promoted. I played that server for quite some time and had great fun, but then the owner started playing on his alternative account abusing to the max and we got into a huge argument about it. He ended up banning me from the server because of it. I then got into prison servers and met my current best friend Rick. We owned DTTR (Don't Try To Run) prison and that went very well for a few months. The only problem was that Rick went inactive for 3 weeks and gave up on the server, leaving me without file access so I couldn't keep it up. I didn't play minecraft for a couple months after that and in November 2012 I met Rick again and we decided to start up ANOTHER prison server called Rick's Corrupted Prison (you might have seen some transfer applications from there lately). That went well for 3 months up until about a month ago. Rick and the other admin have been extremely inactive just like last time and I resigned from the server. I started up a server called, "Orcs vs Elves". That server boosted in popularity when we were featured on PlanetMinecraft Hottest Servers. By the time it shut down we had over 2,000 whitelist applications, 800 of them were never replied to. I could only run that server for 2 months because of how stressful it was. I was spending 10+ hours a day while still being in school. It simply wasn't ready for the massive wave of players, honestly. I handed it off to one of my admins and he turned into a faction server which smashed the server into the ground. Now I'm here, looking to dedicate my time and expertise!

Have you ever been banned or temp banned from any game?: No I have not but I'll admit I am quite familiar with the Minecraft Hacking Scene which may give me a upper hand when reviewing evidence and discussing player rule violation reports.

What do you think is the best way to resolve problems with younger people?: You have to make them see you as an authority figure to get them to not over step there bounds and understand the rules, as a staff member I cannot act like I'm 11 just playing on a minecraft server to control the players I must create a image for myself that'll show I treat the server like a business this way they'll be more respectful and be easier to problem solve whenever a problem comes involving the players.

SCENARIO: A player insults another player: It really depends on the type of situation if they are lashing out at each other with all the F bomb and N swears, I will most likely issue a silent /warning following a message/reason, this way I can avoid a lot of commotion in the chat stop the problem silently and avoid other players to react and cause more unnecessary commotion.

SCENARIO: A player insults you: Another question that really depends on what kind of situation it is, if the person is personally trying to pick me out and insult me first I'd immediately take the problem to /msg and if he continues to type in all chat I would temporarily mute him and resolve whatever conflict he/she may have against me this way I can avoid other people joining and starting and argument.

SCENARIO EXTRA: One thing I'd like to just say about both the scenario's is that I try to avoid provoking the players I try to make sure all the problems against the staff and me individually are done privately to try causing more problems and if there is any other way you'd like me to do thinks I am open to change!, I can make sure I moderator the server to your needs and the way you want it done.

What other things can you contribute to CypeNetwork and Coastal Online (we do favor people who can help contribute): if I see the server moving forward and I really see a future for the server which I honestly do I'll definitely support the server as much as I can financially if ever need be.

Anything else we should know?: I honestly have a lot of experience with minecraft servers and I can honestly contribute into making this server from just a average 10 player server to a 300 auto regrowth server so please do give me a chance and start me from the lowest staff position you have and I promise Ill climb my way to the top.

What makes you fit to be a Admin: I am definitely fit to be being an Administrator because I have the skills required for this job and When it comes to skills and what I can offer, there's a massive list. Let me take out a few key skills that I offer. First off, I'm intelligent. A staff member needs to have a great deal of common sense when it comes to basic situations. I can (with no doubt) offer that. I'm dedicated. When I find a server, I stick with it for a great deal of time. I can't stand switching from server to server. To show my dedication I donate to keep the server alive and never by any circumstances break the rules.

Another way of showing my dedication is how active I am. With my current schedule, I will be playing almost all day.
You will never have to worry about me abusing my power in any way, shape, or form. I am extremely trustworthy and would never risk the chance of being banned/demoted. I will enforce the rules the best I can with the resources available. I will keep up to date with the rules. If I am unsure of anything, I will bring it up the next time I have the chance to talk to you. More than likely I'll message you on skype, leave a post o the forums, PM you on the forums, or post on the thread.

If your worried that I won't be able to handle a certain situation where lag could possibly mute me somehow, get rid of that mindset. I have a very powerful machine that can tank ANYTHING minecraft could possibly throw at me. I first built it 2 years ago, but I've been upgrading it ever since. I recently purchased dual 1920x1080 monitors, which is very helpful when managing a server. In short, I will never have lag problems or connection issues.

I know this sounds cheesy and lame, but I was the president of debate club in my senior year of high school. This has really helped me out with leadership capabilities and I know how to handle situations a lot better. I’m very friendly and have a simple way of going about how to treat someone. If someone’s respectful to me, I’m respectful to them. If someone’s extremely rude to me I’m not going to treat them like an adult and I’ll end up talking to them like they’re my 5 year old sister. I think with me around the server will have a lot more relaxed and community-like aroma. I’m not going to put up with excessive flaming and hatred towards other players. I don’t care if they yell at eachother, but they’re not going to do it in a public chat making the server look bad. I have a lot of common sense when it comes to a lot of different things with the server. Common sense is something not many people have on minecraft, really. Everyone applying for staff knows the rules and is willing to apply the rules, but don’t quite understand some certain situations. There’s just a lot of times where some of the staff members I’ve seen (not on this server) don’t know how to react to everything. I’m good enough for the job and I’ve been around the block. Overall I’d like to benefit the server by making it a friendly area where it’s not just pvp and people can gain good friendships without having to worry.

Do you have knowledge of bukkit: Yes, I have been exposed to bukkit for all my minecraft life pretty much, I've spent a great deal of time experimenting with bukkit and understanding it to the fullest, I have knowledge with almost any plugin that is involved in a faction server.

What is your past experience: I have an incredible amount of past experience for servers. I'll start back in 2010 when I used to play Classic Minecraft. Me and an IRL friend owned a Classic Minecraft server and it ended up becoming very popular with some decent builds on it. Actually, I have some pictures saved of my builds way back then! Have you read everything in this post: Yes

What can you contribute to the team:

Can you somewhat build? Yes I have a Decent Capability to build and ability to construct event rooms, buildings and such that'll be useful to the server.

Anything else? Yes I notice your only looking for helpers and moderators but I really think with my help as a Administrator I can turn this server into a great server.

Plugin Experience: Of Course this isn't an answer that isn't required but I think it should be important for an Admin to be able to understand and use plugins efficiently, administrative commands are quite useful and generally do come in handy and I can use them all from perms to worldedit I have a lot of experience with almost all the plugins out there and understand how to use them, modify them if need be and more.

Skills: This questions also required by you but I'd prefer to answer it, I have the skills required for this job and When it comes to skills and what I can offer, there's a massive list. Hello,

Yes you can, using latest development builds, and AutoRelog bot.

They are found in the spoiler in first post, and you can use the following messages as kick messages :)

    Minecraft Login failed
    Failed to ping this IP
    Failed to determine server version

Yeah, I am using the afk bot but when I try leave it over night it randomly looses connection and can't restart itself

I got the latest DEV version, just wanna say this bot is awesome :D

My client randomly goes "connection lost" and when it tries to connect it says "an error occurred while attempting to connect to this ip" then it just doesn't reconnect, is there anyway to mark it so it reconnects after hitting that error.
