I use command book. The syntax for coloured wool is "/item wool:<colour> <amount>"

So, any ideas on why debug mode is so much more efficient on certain machines?

I have version 2.1.0_02 patcher (newest) but it doesn't matter. Reason - you shouldnt use MCPatcher with Optifog HD (don't install HD Textures and Fonts)

Restore your original minecraft.jar and patch just installing Better Grass. Better grass does work perfectly with optifog HD, I don't know why other people have reported this as a problem.

IMO the best way to install mods to minecraft.jar is to use MCPatcher. You can add mods directly to it and check/uncheck which ones you want to install. It makes it much faster and it makes a backup, so you always can restore the original if you break up something.

    My main mods:
    - Mod Loader
    - Opti"Fine" HD
    - Better Grass

    Texture Pack:
    LB Photo Realistic x256

No problems except ones that everyone have (or just me?)
    - wrong rendering of sides of hand held items
    - Optimine water bug fix will be appreciated (I'm not forcing sp614x to fix it, I'm just telling, I'm the poor one who doesn't know a s**t about programming(and loves minecraft, it's beauty and OptiFog))

Sorry, I meant the HD patcher you used.

SP, if you could find out what does this, it would be great. I can use a 64x texture pack while using F3 at 40 FPS. My laptop is running a crappy Intel GMA.

Edit: It's working at pretty much the same speed with the 128 LB photo realism pack.

Double edit: I hit 100 FPS while in windowed mode on the 128 pack (In debug mode) It would be great if I could get rid of the lag-o-meter.

It doesnt happen here (x256 texture pack)
90 FPS w/o debug mode, 90 FPS with debug mode

    Tested with Fraps

What patcher are you using? I don't think this happens with the latest version of MCpatcher.

    This is strange.
Can you check if you have animated textures in debug mode (water, lava, watch and compass)?

    Sure.

Just did, I yes I do have animated textures.

It would be great if you could utilise this, or add an option that gets rid of the big red bar, so it's easier to play with F3 on. I get about 50 FPS when I have debug mode on. Only problem is the lack of visibility.

Using animated textures (water, lava, etc) with HD textures AND mipmaps may cause an FPS drop.
This is caused by the mipmaps which have to be recalculated 20 times per second.

The problem is negligible for 16x and 32x textures, becomes noticeable at 64x and may cause massive lag at 128x and above. It is visible as big white lines in the lagometer (F3).

For now to fix it either disable animated textures or disable the mipmaps. Using 16x or 32x textures also helps.
I am still working on a permanent solution.

You don't seem to understand him, still. Since I'm getting this too, I'll explain.

When using an HD texture, as expected, my performance is horrid. if I play with F3 (Debug mode) on, my FPS increases dramatically. This only happens with some kind of HD patch.

Hope that cleared it up. (If you find out why this happens, make sure not to get rid of it. Utilize it.)

Tested the latest with optimine and i lost about 60fps when i normaly have around 80-120fps

If you get 80 FPS already, you have no need for this.

posted a message on Strange occurances with an HD texture pack and Optimine.
Today I decided to give an HD texture pack a spin, so I tried out Mixcraft (32x32). Now, I was expecting horrendous lag because of my crappy Intel GMA IGP. Strangely enough, my FPS improved! I went from 30-40 FPS to 70-180 FPS!

Any ideas on what could have caused this?

Sorry if it's in the wrong section, I'm quite new here.
