Even if you just make a single spawner blaze farm (people sometimes make double or triple ones), you will have chests filled with stacks of blaze rods in no time.

Not only this, but with a Looting III sword you get them twice as fast.

In the end, blaze rods are probably a better choice for a long term player. They're less of a hassle, and they are pretty much renewable unless you manage to destroy every spawner in the world. (realistically impossible.)

Mods ruin the core gameplay of minecraft. But some people do prefer playing something that isn't minecraft.

You really needed to make a thread for this when you could've just gone into the control options and checked?...

Go to the link in my description. My survival world is there to see. It's changed a lot recently, but my "house" hasn't seen much change.

If, at the time of spawning, 6 or more monsters of the block's type are present within a 17 × 9 × 17 area (17 wide and 9 high and 17 deep), centered on the spawner block, the spawner "poofs" without creating any monsters and then waits for the next cycle. However, if there are more of the mob outside of the specified range, then the monster spawner will continue spawning mobs indefinitely.

From the looks of the design, the mobs are simply to close to the spawner when they fall down, and they shut it off, so to speak. All you have to do is make the water channel up top twice as long and have the skeletons drop to a place that is at least 10 blocks away, and then it'll spawn much more reliably, possibly indefinitely.

The enchanting is much more reliable. Just do Lv 30 over and over, and you'll get a good pick every time.

How many people are on the server? Because can't there only be a certain amount of mobs on the map at any time, and if people are spread way out on the server, wouldn't that leave just a few to spawn from the spawner?

Monster spawners will spawn regardless of the mob cap.

You need to make the mobs chill further away from the spawner. The spawners found how many mobs are in the general area, and if the cap is reached, it won't spawn anymore. Make the mobs go further away from the spawner.

The cap is 6 though. If he's getting 25, the spawner is becoming ineffective after awhile.
