i bought a second account simply because of the name i had initally used to register with. I had no intention of playing SMP and I didn't use a name I would use for MP gaming. I ended up liking SMP more than SSP so i got a second account.
It's not like the game is expensive and I can always give the extra copy to somebody if they want one eventaully.
i find Servers hosted by a main pc are faster then bought server hosted ones.,
well of course thats because there in my country but .. all the hosted ones are all USA one's.
If they had more AU or Oceanic servers you would be paying the right money otherwise i say just numbers
I'm in the USA and I play on a server hosted in Gemany, There is virtually no lag whatsoever. We do have a team of very intelligent admins who are able to figure out what portions of the bukkit mod and the mods we running that are slowing the system down and fixing the problem.
The team is part of a live streaming community among other things that bring in income.
Exactly. I always thought that servers were free for a community until this occurred :\
I would assume that most servers or at least a very good number of them are people running them off of their own PC's.
I would be very surprised to find anybody who runs a MC server on their own computer for free that can handle 100 players and multiple worlds without completely bogging down.
But even if it is just for it to be having the server ran-don't some programs go on even when off or on? That's like saying you made google chrome remember your pass word and it forgets it 2seconds later-no it doesn't work like that but if some one's computer is running YOUR server in a way your lending your server into other hands they can literally if they wished delete it.
Any hosting company that just delets your content for no reason would soon find themselves out of business.
These are the same hosting companies that host FPS servers and many other games.
You're not paying for numbers, You are paying for rental of a computer that puts yours to shame. Also your upload speed sucks, more than a handful of players connecting to your server and they will have a very bad experience.
Personally I just AFK for about 45 minutes letting ~200 of them build up then nail them all with an instant health splash potion to take them all out at once.
This ^^
With the small amount of armor zombies have you will almost never get to 1 shot them with your hand. It is much more efficient to just use a splash healing I potion to take out a few hundred of them at a time.
If you use combat you will have to waste food due to the loss from combat, and lots of it, If you decide to use a sword to kill them then you will also be making hundreds of stone swords. Sure cobble and wood are renewable but 1 potion can take out as many zombies as dozens of swords can.
You also have to look at the time wasted factor. If you wish to combat them instead of using a splash potion, you have to actaully sit there and continually hit the mouse button. With splash potions you can just afk and once you have a few hundred built up, come and throw the potion and reap the rewards.
1 gold bar, 9 slices of melon, 9 gunpowder, 9 netherwart, and 27 glass will get you 27 splash potions of healing 1.
Each of those potions can take out as many zombies as you can fit into a 1x1 area.
I have a couple double chests full of them. I found 3 spawners just close enough to each other for me to make a decent xp trap. There are 2 zombie spawners and a skeleton so I have more useless junk than I could ever need. I would be a little happier about it if zombies dropped all of the parts iron armor instead of just the helmet.
Plug both of the monitors in and turn on the computer. Right click on the desktop and click on properties, I think, it's the bottom one on the menu. Click on the far right tab. There should be the window that lets you set the resolution. There should be an option to extend the desktop, check that option and apply.
I could give you better instructions but I'm not at home. I do it by muscle memory now and don't pay attention to the specifics.
Seriously!!? Hrmmm, I don't use shovels hardly at all so hadn't tried that. I just didn't expect a single mouse click to break multiple blocks. Learn something new all the time.
If you're using an e4 or e5 shovel on sand, yes.
Now you can't just tap the mouse button but if you hold it as long as you would normally, yeah.
I have gone through a couple of diamond e4 u3 picks getting a ton of sand.
It's about the same as using an e4 diamond pick on netherrack.
And an e5 diamond shovel will tear through logs as quick as an axe, and it has the same amount of uses.
I either use unbreaking 3 and efficiency 3 or 4 diamond shovels for sand.
One hmouse click will get as far as you can reach in whatever direction you are having.
I wouldn't waste the the time getting the extra levels for e5. But if you get it, use it. I would rather use e5 to cut wood with on a shovel.
It is cleaver thinking and all that but I will personally be sticking with having them drop into a 1x1 kill box with iron bars on one side. Then I just walk up and throw a splash healing 1 potion at them and they all die.
The best thing to do for a tree farm is plant as many saplings as you can. I suggest 100 or more.
Trees grow just fine like this
I use birch trees now and this setup works fine.
And this is a nearly completly filled tree farm that works perfectly
People will tell you that you must space the saplings away from each other.
That is false.
It is true that 2 of them won't grow next to each other if they are birch or pine, but you can still plant them next to each other.
As soon as you cut down one of the trees that grew, the saplings next to it gets a chance to grow.
The key to a good tree farm is having more trees growing or able to grow than you can cut.
Most of my farms I can never get done cutting down a row of trees before others start to grow.
Just give yourself enough height, 6-8 air blocks will do and I like to leave 2 or 3 blocks around the outside of the farm, this is mostly to be able to walk around the farm and not have to chop leaves to get thru.
just to let people know
this will NOT WORK, i repeat NOT, work in multiplayer. the hit area for it requires that nothing be in between you and the monster's face.
If you are making a spawner xp trap and you are punching the mobs to kill them, you are just wasting your time.
Splash potions. Splash healing I for undead mobs and splash harm I for everything else.
You can kill hundreds of mobs at a time this way. It is far far better than standing there punching hundreds of mobs.
Also, don't drop them onto water. Set up a water channel with oda sticky piston blocking it off and just flip the switch when you are done to push the drops to you.

From what you said, this isn't something that would work on multiplayer unless the server is running it.
That generally means you need bukkit and there needs to be a plugin that does the same thing.

As was said though, it is illegal to share it.
I suggest you start backing up before you click Yes to update now.

Anywhere in the red the spawner will spawn mobs.
The drop point or whatever only has to be 9 blocks away from the spawner.
