I'm having some trouble with actually getting to use this wonderful texture pack (Have had previous versions working).
I'm trying to get the 1.2.5 512 extreme plus version with the added animations (btw. do they all go in the anim folder, or just the one which is in an anim folder in the seperate archive?), but whenever I select it in the minecraft client, it'll freeze up for some time while allocating memory, when this is done, it'll just go back to having selected the default texture and then keeps on running... I'm using a 64 bit version of java with 3072 Mega bytes (3 real Giga bytes) of memory allocated to it, so that shouldn't be the problem...
Hey again - I've found that there's a problem with the Bookshelf connected texture, as can be seen from the link: ctm problem screenshot
This is with the 512+ pack atleast
My problem is that I got unusual low framerates using it, even with optifine and all settings at low quality.
I'm currently using the 512+ pack, but did also try the 256 alt. pack, to see if that helped, that only gave me 2 - 3 fps more on average.
Prior to using this pack, I used Balea 3.2 (256x256) with shaders and optifine, that gave me 90+ fps, which is why I wonder why this pack is giving me so much trouble...
I wish to know if it's possible to give MC a static port to use, rather than the random port it uses now?
I need this to make my MC launcher able to connect to the server, as my BG firewall and Javaw.exe can't agree...
I've experienced a minor bug with the latest version of SMP and MC (the beta 1.8, not 1.9 pre-release):
Whenever I use a wooden axe, my chat is spammed with: "First position set (x, y, z)" where x, y and z are coordinates.
Awesome, fixed it for me. Interesting that the problem lies with java wanting to use the IPv6 instead of IPv4. A permanent way to fix this is to just uninstall the IPv6 protocol in your adapter settings of anyone else having this problem in which this is the fix.
Much thanks r3sistance!
I can tell you, that in Java 7, IPv6 is standard, since when i Checked the exception Bullguard wanted to make, IPv6 was listed in the details section.
But as #8 says: It made no difference for me.
Is there a way to set the port Minecraft uses, so that it is static, rather than random ?
I seek help with my client launcher, as it is not able to go through my BG firewall,
because every time I launch mc, it makes a new entry for javaw.exe, thus making it unable to use the saved exception I already made, with the correct port exceptions. The problem was temporarily solved by a BG supporter, as he added a port specific exception, but after a restart of my computer, MC used a new port.
Now, I seek a way to make a static port for MC, so that I can make a port specific exception once and for all!
Hi,
I'm having the same problem, and it's really bugging me!
As per the above post, itmight be true, as I have JRE 7 installed on my computer, but where is the fix you suppose?
This reminds me SO much of: Amnesia - Dark Descent...
As an optional thing, I think this could have potential, for people who would like to add another "dimension" (he he, funny...) to their game. :smile.gif:
Though the repetiveness is kind of a deal killer - otherwise thousands of different recordings of different phrases, would be needed, and THAT, might be too time consuming.. :/
This is very simplified (must be buildable for all), but:
You would have a water tank (e.g. made of glass), beneath that a heating element (e.g. made of iron, or just open flames heating the bottom of the tank).
At the top of the tank, a tube made of e.g. glass, could look like this:
[]
Which transport the steam, at the end of the tube, a turbine (or some other construction - which ever is most convenient). From that turbine you have the electrical output.
The extend of the design of a power station, is up to the individual player - bigger tanks for water, leaves players with having to re-"fuel" less often, but also the time needed to heat the water, is longer, thus making power production take longer time, but also lasting longer :smile.gif:
Yes, I stress - It IS simplified, but not all players are engineers, neither am I,
but I still think it could be fun, with having to consider where my power comes from, and in which form :smile.gif:
And as mentioned, this could give another use to netherrack, and making trips to the nether more worthwhile :smile.gif:
I'm not sure if this has been suggested before - darn you missing search function! - but I'll suggest it anyway :smile.gif:
I'm currently reading for my physics exam, and atm. just reading about power generation and power stations, and thought: Hey, What if we in minecraft, were able to build power stations, and thereby have a longer running source of energy, than redstone (is it 16 blocks it reach?), and we were able to use different materials, to get power (just like in the furnace, where different things, burns for longer).
This would bring about new uses for:
Wood,
Coal,
Water,
Lava,
and Netherrack.
Also this would give birth to new craftable items: Wire - which can transport electricity (which optionally could hurt a player, like real electric shocks) for longer distances.
and Light bulbs (maybe different types, like florescent lights, regular light bulbs, and other types), which could maybe light up a cave better than torches, and give a different feel - rather than always having the kind of medieval feel of torches :smile.gif:
This would also need spinning objects, for the turbine :smile.gif:
Please tell me what you think - I think it could be funny, and would bring a new aspect to the game :smile.gif:
(This idea is not 100% developed, but came to me very spontanious)
I definately like the idea (this might also be, because my computer is rather powerful)! :smile.gif:
After watching the video you linked to, I really got convinced, OMG it was B-e-a-utiful! :biggrin.gif:
I just downloaded it today, from the Preferred Download site, so it is the newest version - :/
Redownload minecraft. And make sure you have your settings on low (Render distance low, not fancy, fog on max), and check back then.
never mind, got it to work, now there's just one problem left...
when I load a game, some blocks (in bunches) are black, until i place a block near it, then they become normal again... Also happens to mobs (quite anoying)..

Love your pack - keep it up! :smile.gif:

This is with the 512+ pack atleast

And you are using which texture pack version and optifine?
And how did you install it?
I'm using the bat file to launch, just put optifine into the minecraft.jar and deleted META-INF

basic specs:
Intel i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
Nvidia GT550M
8GB DDR3 ram
I have set java (64-bit) to use 3GB of ram...

Have anyone experienced this too ?
