While I like the concept, getting griefed over and over by people with diamond weapons isn't that enjoyable. Remove the massive beacon that shows people's names from a mile away and sure, this server is great. Otherwise, there's almost no where you can run where there won't be at least one guy with a diamond weapon that can see your nametag, and the vast majority of them that I'd found spend most of their time griefing. It's not 'true survival' until there's no nametag when the player isn't visible. I'd made an insanely hidden hide out, only for a diamond weapon guy to stroll past, notice my nametag down in the dirt that would otherwise have gone unnoticed, and instantly starts digging down to kill me. I didn't even have iron let alone diamonds. It's pure griefing.
One diamond weapon guy was kind enough to at least not destroy my base which I could never find afterwards anyway because I'd hidden it so well and it was so far away from the spawn point. Everyone else that's killed me so far has burnt/destroyed everything they didn't want.
I see it being fun if you are willing to dig through griefing more than the earth until you get lucky and find diamonds, until then this is going to be annoying.

Just a side question, are you trying to keep younger users and/or people not in the server's region from being on the whitelist? The latter certainly seems very likely, in which case that's disappointing for me.

No, we have users from different age groups. What counts is the effort put into your application and not the country you live in or your age. Those are only additional statistics for the Herocraft staff to know.

Don't worry, we have quite a few Aussies as well, young and old :wink.gif:

Hehe great. If I get in there will actually be people online that aren't just nocturnal.

Why should you be accepted into Herocraft?: I've played a lot of roleplaying maps in games such as WarCraft 3 and have never been the kind to ruin everyone else's creations. I spend a lot of my time in Minecraft being an architect, creating extremely detailed structures. It's what I find most entertaining, I spend a lot of time in single player with Peaceful on, just creating awesome tunnel networks, sky bridges, five to ten story outposts built into cliff faces, greenhouses that double as a lookout, and so on.
Addn. Info: I've often donated to servers and free game developers. Herocraft sounds like the kind of server I'd certainly be willing to dish out a recurring donation for to help keep it up and running. I'm happy to donate before being accepted (so long as I am), but I'm not all that interested in supporting a server I can't even be a part of.

Why should you be accepted into Herocraft?: I used to play a lot of roleplaying and world-building maps in WarCraft 3, and I love the idea of being able to be a part of a world like this. I can see myself having massive amounts of fun, going out into the free build areas and creating all kinds of geographical things. I love the idea of setting up towns and outposts across the world.
Addn. Info: I only got Minecraft today. So far I've been loving every minute, and have already carved a level of a mountain and filled the edges with glass. With time, I'll get better.

I just got verified. Awesome. Problem is that when I try to log in on this PC, (Windows 7 64bit) it flashes briefly with an update screen and then goes black. Luckily I have a Mac I can play it on until I figure this out.

Due to it being Christmas, there has been a major problem with payment verification. You won't lose the money, but you won't get Minecraft for another few days when the issue is resolved.

I wouldn't even say dispute the payment. That has a negative impact on the other party. Unless you seriously need that 20 bucks back NOW (which if so, why did you buy the game in the first place?) then let it be until we hear back about the problem? I mean if it's a WEEK and still nothing, ok...maybe dispute it then...but don't do that after just a day or 2...these are what...5 guys? It's not like a multi-billion dollar company with thousands of workers...comeon now...

What? I'd thought it was just one guy (Notch) with minor assistance from one or two other people in areas he can't do or something.

I'm happy to wait another five days with no response at all, but five days after Christmas is more than enough.

Not a good first impression, but it's understandable why this is happening.Though if it isn't verified by the 27th I'll certainly be getting a refund, and then just buy it again later.

It's not so much the problem that is annoying, but the fact that there is no response to this. Even more annoying that I get told to send an email only to receive no response from that too. This is why you don't buy things right before Christmas.

Most likely because it's Christmas Eve, there seem to be absolutely no payment verifications going through. It's a problem everybody is having, not just you. Chances are it will be fixed after Christmas. Or better yet, it will be fixed now :3

Its taken out of my account and everything Lol ...(Why am I laughing) .....I hope this problem i fixed soon

I said 'payment verifications' not payment. You're money is being sent, but the fact that you've paid isn't being verified, which would normally activate your account.
