    They also ask:

    "Is this Tekkit?"

    "Can I get the IP?"

    "What is this?"

    "Make a <insert random useless thing here>."

    "Eat!!!!"

    "Is this Xbox?"

    "What is FTB?"

and a couple others... Point being that people would still ask even if there were big flashing letters and a constant audio playback trying to explain. People generally don't read.

That is absolutely true. And that's just a fact of the internet. But you can help that problem some what. Personally I think that the OP should have a bit more detail to it. Maybe a few pics from one of the insanity challenges that slow did, and maybe a few sentences that describe the map slightly better. I also think that there should be links to slow and friends twitch.tv pages so that more people can find those. I personally can never keep track of who all working on the ftb map so links like that would be great to. I also would love it if he put the old (yet flawed) maps back up for download. Even though they have flaws I think that they would be a great map to mess around with. These are all things that I feel could be improved upon and I am sure that just as many people will agree with me as those that don't. I feel these things could be improved upon not because I think what they are doing is bad, but because I think that FTB deserves more fans and more followers and deserves to have more support.

constructive criticism, Well thought out and formatted messages, with polite language, and ideas laid out in a clear and understandable manner.

trolling is repeating the same already answered comments with the same tired rubbish described with poor language, day after day.

now, look back at your messages, and see which of these two definitions fits best?

Ok well I could type up an entire post explaining my motives in those previous posts, but I can see that it really won't do any good considering ever time I type anything you look at it with a very high and mighty attitude and twist the meaning of the post to fit whatever come back you have in mind.

What I will say however is this. If slow or one of the other FTB devs were to post something like you just did

    Quote from malfunctionMC

as for those wishing to know whats going on... from the few videos this weekend, the next release should be the SMP Coop insanity map, its just waiting on the bukket team finalising their tweaks to the mod pack for installation, and the last few beta testers finishing up their playthrough to make sure everything works as it should.

then people would not have to ask every single time slow does a stream. The reason everyone asks is because everyone wants to know, yet there is no information given about it on either the OP or in any form of a posted update. Thus leading to everyone saying "Hey slow when is FTB SMP going to come out" 2 dozen times a stream (not to mention the dozens of times a week posted here on the forums.) But I am sure that you will feel that I'm just here to troll and that the FTB team is perfect and has nothing that they could possibly improve.

Stay tuned because next on the agenda is a snarky put down from MalfunctionMC!

not to mention idiots trolling the thread... You got a personal reply from Slowpoke... is that not enough communication for you?

Ok so first off I wasn't even talk to who ever the freaking heck you are, I was replying to someone else. And secondly I guess you don't understand what "constructive criticism" is. So here I will wikitionary that for you, here. And just in case your to lazy to click a link here it is. "Criticism performed with a compassionate attitude towards the person qualified for criticism."

Do you see what that says. Criticism performed with a compassionate attitude. Now do you understand what that means? Or do a need to look up the definition of compassionate also? So obviously you have no life/job because the only reason why you have 1715 posts under your name is because you sit at the computer refreshing ever minecraft forum page so you can pick some kind of snarky ass fight so that you can make yourself feel better about yourself.

So, you want to be a sarcastic ass? Or do you want to discuss things reasonably and put yourself off you high horse and look at things from other peoples view instead of just feeling that you have the right thought about everything.

I'm not Slow, I'm not connected to the team in any way, but offhand I would say that the reason why those sorts of things aren't posted is probably because they probably wouldn't have anything that definite, and by giving a definite timeframe it only leaves things open for people to criticize when that deadline isn't met. It's grief and drama either way.

Well I didn't mean like a time frame for when they are going to release it just some form of status update would be nice. I do agree with you that if they were to give some kind of time frame and not be able to make that deadline it would cause even more criticism. I think when it comes down to it, FTB insanity SMP release is looked to forward to by just about everyone who plays minecraft, which makes it hard because there are so many fans and so few people who are actually working on the project. Throw in a lack on communication and you get everyone feeling antsy and impatient.

You hardly had to watch the whole thing. After the first hour or so it becomes rather clear that things aren't working properly. 80% of nether spawns only appearing on one side of the wall is a rather significant concern even if your strategies don't involve using the nether much after you get your first few pieces of gold. The monument itself not working at all in SMP is another concern.

Insanity SMP might not happen for quite some time due to many of the challenges needing components which are not available in SMP.

Slow and most of those involved are doing this for FUN. They undoubtedly have other things in their life than trying to get a FTB version released and due to the nature of SMP, testing that the map even works properly means that not only do they have to have the 12-56 hours available to run tests, but they also need other people around in that same time frame to help with the tests. It'll be released when they have time to work things out, so please stop acting like you're entitled to a SMP release. As everyone and their dog will likely want to play it when it's released, they'll kinda want to have most of the major bugs and imbalances sorted out or else you'll have people bitching about those too.

I have never said that I am entitled to a SMP release. What I am saying is this. How hard is it to say something like, "SMP testing is going well we have found several bugs that need to be worked out and we feel that it may take up to another 4 weeks before we get the time to work them out." How hard is that? That took me no more than 30 seconds to type out. As far as that video that you are talking about. I didn't get a chance to watch any of it. And the release that most of use are waiting for is CO-OP not verses so that would blow the nether spawning issue out of the water. And the monument would work just fine as well because even as of right now it uses RP not Logistics Pipes, and as we all know Red Power is SMP. Many people on this forum have already taken the SSP insanity map and converted it to SMP by just taking out the challenges that require SSP mods and changing them to other items. Concerning them not getting payed for this, I do know that, in fact just about every time somebody mentions some way that the FTB team could improve some body like you goes, "Well there not payed for this so they have every right to do it the way they want." And that statement is exactly right, however, it doesn't mean that everything they do is perfect.

As far as the comments about "everyone and there dog" and people "bitching" about everything the FTB team does. Well I will just pretend that I didn't see those.

last weekend, not last month. and as for watching the stream at unfortunate hours... click the videos tab... 99% of twitch streams can be watched as a video shortly after the stream closes.

I know that, But as it is between work and other IRL things going on I don't get the time to watch most of them, let alone watch one just to see if slow mentions news about the FTB progress. Like I have already said it would be much easier and much more "official" if he posted a update once a week, or even bi-weekly.

if you had watched the FTB SMP lets play you would have your update... there are severe balancing issues to do with mob spawning that they need to look into.

Um, What? The FTB SMP lets play? Which one would that be? If you are talking about that SMP lets play DW did, that finished a month ago. So "balancing issues" should have been taken care of by now. Now if you are talking about the live streams slow does. Well I live in CA and his streams tend to happen around 2-3 in the morning for me so I can't waste my life staying up all night watching every single stream he does just to get and "update", because guess what, I have a job. :o I know right who would have thought some person on here actually has a life other than FTB and MC.

Now all that I was saying in that last post was this.

People keep asking about when SMP insanity will come out. The reason being is that everyone is really looking forward to playing a map as awesome as FTB insanity with there friends. But if this keeps going on with out any official updates for months and months then people will give up on it, slow will lose some of his fan base, and people who are tech savvy will start converting the map to smp and then they won't have a need for the "official" SMP release. Now I was really against taking the map and converting it to smp in the first place, but now with how long this is taking with out any explanations about what is holding them up, If they plan on waiting tell 1.3 before they release SMP of insanity or if they plan on adding some things to it (such as thaumcraft) before they release.

So now do the math. Its been a month since insanity has been released. If they plan on waiting tell 1.3 then that's say another 2 weeks before its released, then its going to be another month after that for all the mods to update. Then say there waiting for thaumcraft to go smp then that could be another 2 weeks after the mods update to 1.3. Now with a new version of minecraft, new versions of mods, and a new mod all together, there going to want to do some beta testing, so lets say 2 more weeks for beta testing.

That would (worst case scenario) put the SMP release of insanity some time around September 15 2012. Now is that reassuring? At that point for those of you who are still in some sort of school you would be back in school and not have as much time to play insanity with you friends. So now you may be thinking "well screw waiting 3 months I am just going to patch it to smp myself and play it with my friends now." Thus giving you little to know reason to be looking forward to the official release.

So all that ranting aside. The reason why I posted my last post is because I feel that if slow were to drop by here and post a status update here and there it would calm people down and keep people feeling like they are "in the know" and in general make people less antsy. It would also keep down the need for others having to post hear say that they have heard off of a stream or a twitter post.

Since that last post I have gotten word from slow that it should be coming out soon so I am not worried about it, but the points I posted above are all still legit concerns for say the next release.

posted a message on Colored Glass and Colored Light! (originally Just the 'Colored Glass!' topic but Mojang added our idea! :D Congrats everyone!)
Not sure if you are familiar with the mod RedPower made by eloraam, but for those of you who are you know that the mod adds in "lamps" or redstone powered light blocks of every color (the same as the wool colors). The lamps how ever don't give off different colors and here is quote from eloraam her self on why not.

You should make lights shine the color that they are.
"I wanted to, and when I saw 1.8 the first time, I thought that Notch had actually added colored light. Instead, he moved to a new system of multitexturing for light level code (basically using a second texture where the coordinates are torchlight and sunlight levels), which actually makes it much, much more difficult to ever make this happen. It would now take not just a complete rewrite, but also a redesign, of the lighting code."

That quote right there pretty much breaks everthing you have said about how easy it would be to implement. :P Though I would love to have it, seems like a major over haul of the minecraft lighting system.

Ok first off please use spoilers. Second you are right about compact solars and adv machines conflicting. what is conflicting exactly is 2 items are trying to use the same block ID for 2 different blocks. To fix this go download DW's latest world download and then copy all the files from there into your .minecraft, which if done correctly will fix all block ID conflicts

Like this. Why does that even matter? Someone else asked, so what maybe 0xXxDEADxXx0 has more pull with DW then you. If I were DW he sure would.

So in case this is overwhelming to you here is a simple guide to follow.

    1. Stay off your dang high horse and lower yourself to the level of the people asking the questions.
    2. Only answer questions that you know the answer to.(blind leading blind doesn't help anyone)
3.Don't make big deals about little issues.

This has just started happening to me. What happens is that my Tree Farm when ejecting the sand it disappears then reappears a second later drops to the ground. Also the Humus does not get supplied for some reason the dirt just accumulates in the crafting table and does not send out the Humus through the logistic system. Is this similar to the problems you are having? Did you contact the Krapht the author of the mod? I may have other issues but this is what has happened to me so far.

Yeah I had those problems also. I just spent the last 4hrs rebuilding my entire logistics network and everything seems to work ok now, and in fact it gave me the opportunity to adjust some of my piping and make it better, but still annoying to have to do. I did start a topic on the logistics pipes forum section on the buildcraft site but haven't gotten any replies. I suggest that you start one to even if it is the same problem. I look through topics that were already there and didn't see any bugs that were anything like mine so if there are a few new topics with the same type problem maybe it will bring kraphts attention to it.

You can tell a provider pipe (or module) to 'exclude' certain items so that it won't provide them to the system.

You can, but half the time it doesn't work. Take DireWolfs resupply system for his dust and gems chest. He put a supply pipe on the back and told it to keep a stack of coal and redstone in stock, and then he told his provider module not to provide those out of the chest so that you wouldn't get the whole chest supplies itself in an infinite loop. Well go take a look at his world download, it doesn't work. The chest still tries to provide the pipe with the items that he told it not to. So its a known bug with logistics pipes.

Does anybody here know about any game breaking issues with Logistics Pipes? The reason I ask is because come near the end of my SSP world when I have my logistics network all nice and built out it just seems to break. Nothing gets supplied like it should, items stop going through teleport pipes to my farms, the ones that do get there fall out of the piping system onto the ground, and in general everything just stops working. This problem has happened to me 2-3 times now, and I have never been able to figure out why let alone how to fix it. I just end up starting a new SSP world and going through the same exact thing when I come to the end when I have quite a few logistics pipe contraptions in my world. I would love to know why this happens, is there some kind of limit to the amount of Logistics Pipes you can have in a single network or something? Hmm really really really irritating. :o

posted a message on Problems with logistics pipes.
Ok so I have run into an issue which has happened to me a few times now. Basically I'm playing an SSP world with a bunch of mods (click my signature banner to see what all mods). The ones that seem to be the issue is Buildcraft and Logistics pipes.

So basically I love to build lots of LP (Logistics Pipes) machines, such as and Auto crafting system, an auto sorting system, an auto supply system for all my forestry farms (of which I have around 5) also an auto crating system (using forestry for crates) and well many more. The problem is that I get everything working and then all of a sudden after I have built the system out pretty well it just seems to break. Nothing gets supplied like it should, items stop going through teleport pipes to my farms, the ones that do get there fall out of the piping system onto the ground, and in general everything just stops working.

What I would like to know is why? Is there a limit to how many LP I can have in my LP network? Or is there something that if done incorrectly breaks the network for some reason? It's really a pain in the butt because it always seems to happen right around the time I am done building it all out and am ready to just use it. At this point I have a ton of time invested into this system and I really don't want to have to scrap it and start all over again like I did last time.

If anybody knows anything about this type of problem please help me out. :) Please and thank you!
