posted a message on Weekday Calander

I'm currently attempting to set up a calendar that would display using the /title command Monday, Tuesday ect. moving to the next at sunrise the next day.

The attached picture shows the current set up. The lower block of the set of two is the /title command. The conditional above that sets redstone in the empty slot on the next day. The one to the side removes the redstone for the current day. This causes an finally repeating loop which thankfully, I didn't finish before spotting the problem. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how I can get this to work, or even if it can be done. Any thoughts?

posted a message on Why most are hating 1.9?

Something I've noticed here on the forum in replies to a lot of people's complaints: Things like "Oh just get a bow!", "Why don't you just build during the day!", "Get over it!", these replies DO NOT FIX ANYONE'S PROBLEMS! They hide them, nothing more. Instead of forcing people to use shitty work around (tedious-ness of a bed, a bow being more of a mid-game item) how about we address the underlying problem? The problem is minecraft isn't a PvP game, it wasn't designed for it, but now Jeb is trying to shoe-horn in a bunch of complicated mechanics for both PvP and PvE (which I have NEVER heard anyone complain of PvE needing work) which doesn't fit with minecraft's "Mission", hit trees, build.

posted a message on Why most are hating 1.9?

Alright, let me focus this particular part of the discussion on a SSP viewpoint, as that is what I'm familiar with.

    Prior to 1.9:

All information relating to how I attack was clear, explained, and there was no confusion involved with the attacks. I knew when the bow was charged up, the game would TELL me when the bow was charged up. I knew when I could and could not damage a mob again based on a bright red aura around the creature. I knew when I could swing a sword, and I knew around how many hits I needed (Though I admit, I needed to deduce that from gameplay).

    Post 1.9:

I have no clue what the hell is going on. I see an attack speed related to a weapon... but I can still swing as fast as I can click, and furthermore... I hit each of these times? There is no red aura around a monster to indicate if it is or is not invincible, who knows, maybe they removed that (shoulda be mentioned in the patch notes on the launcher but whatever). I also see that damage on swords has been reduced, and damage on axes has been increased. Apparently, axes have a slower attack than swords. And now... something odd and something that is TERRIBLY explained, and what I have YET to figure out is happening. I swung at a skeleton with a basic stone sword and got over 10 hits on him before he shot me to death. Excuse me? Since when did Skeletons have 25 hearts of health (5 damage, one heart is 2 health)?

So, some mechanic isn't being explained well at all. And I don't care what the answer even is at this point. In the unnecessary event that Minecraft needed a new mechanic (it really didn't, Minecraft isn't, wasn't, and shouldn't be about killing things), especially if it is crucial to gameplay, I want it well explained in changelogs, I want all important information displayed (why the hell am I doing no damage or why skeletons got a huge health buff), and I want a reason for it. So far with the 1.9 combat, I can safely say none of these three categories has been met.

posted a message on Stepladder mod

There are times when say, you want to access your roof of your home, but alas, you have a slight overhang. So you have to not only build a pile of dirt to your gutter, and then build the ladder against it, but then you have to take it all down, and to do what? Just to spend a brief 3 seconds to see if something spawned on your roof. But what if this could all be done with one block? Quickly set up, and taken down? And what if it could be crafted to be as high as you need it? Well this is why stepladders were invented for the real world! Why not have one in minecraft?

I am using biomes o plenty for 1.7.2, and I seem to have problems with the Sacred Oak Stairs, but no other item, from your mod. From this crash log, do you know how I can fix it?

posted a message on United States 1:1 Scale Map. Help!
Highest point in the continental United States; 4421 Meters, (you will need to work with Meters in order to be accurate.) So each block in terms of height would be about 20 meters per block. The average tree height is about 10 ish depending on species and age. So each tree would be one block high. A better country would be the Netherlands (Highest point 322 meters), and if you were really ambitious, add Belgium. (700m) So. Really, I would ask the creator of the Danish map about how he handled the height of the country.

Yeah, I can replicate it. Superflat, start creative, change to survival, drink, float away. Like some Charlie in the Chocolate Factory drink. As to other mods, yes I do have about 8 others installed, balkons, treecapitator, crafting guide, twilight forest, biomes o plenty, still hungry (duh), extended workbench, and peaceful plus. If you want, I could actually record the process used to achive this and put it on mediafire for you to view.

So, I used both Cider and Wine to test this out. Using a super flat world, with cheats enable, and starting on creative mode, I chugged one of each (after the effect wore off) and while drunk I flew up into the air. This was on creative mode. I changed to survival and repeated the process, and got the same results. Floating up into the air, dying on contact with the ground once drunkenness wore off. Is this supposed to happen?

posted a message on More creeps and weirdos - "Your Minecraft.jar file could not be found. Please run minecraft first then use the installer."
Okay, first off this is in the wrong forum, but in case you do get to read this before it gets moved, it is a problem with forge. Before you try and install forge, go to "profiles" either edit or make a new one, down at the bottom should a drop down menu of versions, select the version of MC that corresponds to your forge, I use 1.7.2, and then run minecraft with that profile. Then try installing forge again. It should work. Took me 30 google searches and many youtube videos to find this out, and even then, it was only in a comment I found it.

If it is a PvE server... Could I build some dungeons at some point?

    Sounds good to me.
There will eventually be multiple cities and new players definitely need a place to stay.

You can set up a stable as well. I already have an area in mind for the main gate. It'll be some time before we get to it, but when we do, I can let you know. You know, so long as you're still there. Haha

I should be, not a whole lot of RP servers going around. Plus I'm pretty invested as it is, and it doesn't even exist yet. :P

Well, no matter the economy, should still be fun all the while, I might actually finally be able to set up that Inn I always wanted. :P
