I use XP farms. They are faster and easier than getting XP through other processes. I wouldn't consider it cheating at all. With most XP farms, you're doing the killing, it's just that the mobs are brought to you instead of you going to them, making it easier and faster.

Maybe someone should go inside their house and kick them until they pass out.
Then kick them some more, maybe break some hands.
I know it's just a game, but there's no morals in check here.
The kind of people that do this thing aren't clever, aren't some vigilante, aren't doing it for any good reason.
They are just terrible human beings.
It's no different than if they were outside picking on little kids because they can.
Oh, wait, there's one difference.
They couldn't hide behind their computers like a coward and would actually face some retribution.
There's not even some level of respect that goes along with a DDoS attack.
It's one of the lowest forms of internet attack.
So not only are you a terrible human being, you're lousy at what you do.
You're human trash and makes me embarassed to be in the same species as you.
I have more respect for a 7 year old that is proud of their first square cobblestone house than anyone doing these attacks.

Time, no, but capability? Just copy the server software over and point the authentication to some of MS's monster datacenters... probably not a botnet in the world that coudl take it down... (though I rather doubt they'd go to that kind of effort, I mean it's MS we're talking about here...) "oh look another couple million hits, it ALMOST raised the CPU by 1%!"

Sorry. Not only Christians. Just anyone who doesn't believe as strong as they do.
Also, as far as I know from the Quran, I think what they're doing is in it. I could be wrong. Anything I know is from limited information I've been given from a friend who's read it. I do know that killing (or at the very least despising) Christians is in there.
Technically they're willing to do what the Prophets told Muslims, but they made a loophole around it. Allah has said that those who disbelieve will perish, and ISIS uses that excuse to slaughter anyone, but it's obvious they don't use that loophole effectively, since they're slaughtering pretty much anyone in their way, especially loyal Muslims. And I'd like to believe what my mom told me, it's not just ISIS' fault, it's also the people PROVIDING the weapons to terrorist group.
Edit: Also, they're not Muslims. Just people who preach they are doing this for Allah.

Rioxas posted a message on [Education is Important!] Chat Restrictions Are IllegalPosted in: DiscussionThis thread is to spread awareness about how many servers are implementing a delay in sending messages in chat, and how it is against the EULA.
What is this chat restriction?
It is a (usually) three second rule on players that do not purchase a bypass from the server store. This bypass can take the forms of various things, such as "Ranks" and "Tickets".
Lately, many servers have begun to use this method as an attempt to gain finances.
While many servers regard it as a method to stop spam, it is actually illegal according to Mojang's "Monetization Post".
Here is a quote from Mojang's post:
"You are not allowed to restrict gameplay features in an attempt to make money."
In Vanilla Minecraft, there are no three second delays, and by imposing a rule only on non-paying players, this is considered a gameplay feature restriction.
Besides violating what was written in the Monetization Post (which is regarded as an extension of the EULA), it affects gameplay as well.
Many Minecraft games require the constant status updates to your team in chat, and some people enjoy having conversations with their friends online. To quote a friend:
"I bought Minecraft for over thirty dollars, and now I have to pay even more money to a third party site to talk with my friends"
Re-read the above statement. Now please read what Mojang wrote at the bottom of the Monetization Post:
"We hate the idea of server hosts restricting Minecraft’s features to players who have already bought our game! It seems really mean."
By imposing a rule so that non-paying players are enticed to purchase "Ranks" and "Tickets", server hosts are directly violating what was stated in the Mojang's posts.
Why am I posting this here?
I have tried numerous times to spread the word directly on the offending server forums, but many do not have forums, and those that do often ignore what was written.
This is an educational post to spread knowledge, and not instigate flame or offense.
For those that are unsure, here is a link to Mojang's Monetization Post, as well as a few more relevant quotes:
https://mojang.com/2014/06/lets-talk-server-monetisation/
"You are allowed to accept donations from players. You can thank them publicly or in-game, but can’t give preferential treatment for donating."
"We want all players to be presented with the same gameplay features, whether they decide to pay or not."
"That said, we don’t want our players to be exploited or to have a frustrating time unless they pay.
"...nor can you restrict gameplay elements to different tiers of player."
"...you cannot restrict gameplay elements to specific users."
I have also noticed many players stating that you cannot report servers for breaching the EULA, that Mojang does not do anything about servers, etc.
Here is a link to the Mojang's form where you can report servers not following the guidelines:
Knowledge is power. Use it wisely.

Temeku posted a message on Can Someone please give me some advice?Posted in: DiscussionI just started playing and I'm 58 years old. I love gaming.
Your issue has 2 parts.
Are you addicted to the game? And is it a kids game?
Second question first. It's not a kids game. I just started playing a couple of weeks ago and I'm really impressed with the size and structure. Trust me theres value to this game well beyond punching blocks. There's a great amount of educational benefits in learning how to use Redstone. I've been reading about various schools/teachers using mine craft to teach logic theory.
Article on the morning news today about a theater full of MC players in a major multi-player world. Yes there were young kids, but there were plenty of adults in there playing as well. Interesting to me, was the social interaction the kids were getting outside of the game.
Second question. Are you addicted? Do you spend all your time with it? Do your chores get done? How's grades, etc. Do you have a life out side of the game? The key here is life balance? Take a deep look at your self. Judging from the fact you posted this, you might actually have a problem you need to look at. Not saying you do, but if you're looking for advice on how to get around the ban by your parents, you might....
Just sayin'.

Very nice pistol whippin'.
I agree with your sentiment.

It takes effort to build interesting automated things. I don't know about you, but it is rewarding to play in survival, and take the time to gather the resources to make interesting automated things. The resources from them are just as rewarding. Just because I have an XP farm, doesn't mean that I don't still fight mobs, and explore, and mine.
1
I would consider it "cheating" if I had to use commands or go into creative mode to accomplish what I want to do.
I solely play survival, so the above options aren't an option for me.
All the resources I need are in the game, and I use the mechanics of those resources to do what I want to do.
1
Yeah, kind of like a double-edged sword. Maybe they should "go outside" and stop the attack, and step away from the computer for a bit.

I have more class than that. Sorry.

No, they aren't Muslims. They are criminals who twist verses to commit their criminal acts, and use them to justify those acts.
I'm sure your friend who has studied the Quran doesn't live in the "dark ages".
Also, the media wants you to believe that every Muslim is a "terrorist". They use inaccurate terms when reporting, and in a sense creates unnecessary panic, and to some degree, a form of prejudice.
A real Muslim understands, that we all bleed red.

I think they mainly do it for attention.
Lack of in real life. I guess they figure having a name like that is appealing.

My advice is: If that is what makes her happy and content, let it be.
Trying to impose or expect everyone to be able to be great builders is partly why some people dislike Minecraft.
Everyone is different.
1
I tend to associate with people who share most of the same interests as me.
Sometimes we run into those who will criticize us for what we like, who we are, what we believe in, etc.
The fact is, I can control who I want in my life, and can easily get rid of any noise.
The short version is: If they don't like Minecraft, they don't have to play it, but don't expect me to not like Minecraft because you don't.
