    I was using a random generator for Gods/Goddesses and I got this, It reminded me of Purple;
"This crazy goddess of travelers takes the form of a young woman. Her hooded eyes are brown. She has violet skin. She carries a spear. She moves from place to place instantly. She sometimes takes the form of a cat. "

posted a message on 1.6 Cave Overhaul?
EDIT Because of some irritated forum users, some things have been cut and a few new Ideas added. This is the brand new version of the "Cave Overhaul" Idea, lots of stuff has been changed. Creative Criticism is very appreciated!

    Hey there Forum!

As of 1.5, Minecraft has 8 ores. The ores are found pretty easily, too. Only three of the eight can be made into armor. And two are sorta useless. Caves are pretty easy to go adventuring through. Caves in vanilla Minecraft are... well... vanilla. They aren't too interesting and too easy to maneuver in.

-Synopsis, In case you haven’t picked it up yet, This mod Idea/Request is centered around caves. It will be a new world gen choice (Like superflat, large Biomes, etc). The caves will be much bigger. Several new mobs and ores will be added, Along with large naturally spawning caverns.

-Geography, When the world generates, you will spawn in a random cave, with a chest with a set of wooden tools, torches, and a sapling. Since the new world is set inside caves, the terrain is fairly basic. Land will generate at the height limit, At the very top of the world there will be a bedrock layer, similar to the Nether. There will be 4 biome types that spawn in special types of caves.
    • Underground Mushroom Biome
    • Underground Egypt Ruins Biome
    • Petrified Wood Forest

    - New Blocks (Ores) Ores will spawn in much larger veins based on this world gen, The largest amount you can get from one vein is 24, the smallest is 8. EDIT To clear up some confusion: These ores would spawn in a default MC world, but not in such large veins.

    - Silver, Silver is as common as gold. Iron+ to mine.

    - Ruby, Ruby only spawns around lava, making it dangerous to mine.

    - Emerald, Emerald will now spawn in slightly larger veins and in other biomes.

    - Sapphire, Spawns close to the top layer of bedrock

    - Topaz, Spawns only in Underground Egyptian Ruins

    - Amethyst, Only spawns in Underground Mushroom biomes

    - Fossils, Fossils are found in large clusters and is very common, When mined, it will drop Bonemeal or Bones. An easy way to get bones if you're playing on peaceful

    - Sulpher, Sulpher is an ore that will spawn in veins of one. It is very common and an easy way to get Gunpowder/Sulpher while playing on peaceful

    - Illuminite, Illuminite's only purpose is to light up large areas. Will drop Coal when mined.

    - Nether! Yes the Nether is being edited too! It won't be a large cave like the Overworld, but more Miner-ific things will be added!

    - Hellstone, Hellstone is the stone of the Nether! Netherrack will be more like dirt, rather than a weak stone. Iron+ to mine

    -New Blocks (Basic)

    - Aged Stone, Aged stone is stone, but darker in color and takes twice as long to mine . Can only be mined with a Copper+ Pick
Crafting: Aged Stone can be crafted into Stone Tools.

    - Cold Dirt, Cold dirt is the same as dirt only darker in color. Requires a Copper+ shovel

    - Petrified Wood Logs, Petrified wood logs are the basic source of wood in this type of world. They spawn in Petrified Wood Forests, which are fairly common. Can be crafted into Petrified Wood Planks and all other wood-like materials (Doors, buttons, sticks, etc). Require a Stone+ Pickaxe to mine. Why a pickaxe? You wouldn't hit a dinosaur skeleton with an axe, would you?

    - Geode, Geodes look like stone with a light green hue. When mined, it will drop two Geode slabs. Geodes will come In the 6 new gem types. Can be smelted into a specific gem (See “New Ores!” above)

    - Violet Stone, Violet Stone is stone... only Violet. Only is found in Underground Mushroom Biomes.

    - Craftable Blocks!

    - Block of Silver, The basic storage block for Silver!

    - Block of Rubies, The basic storage block for Ruby!

    - Block of Sapphire, Basic storage block for Sapphire!

    - Block of Topaz, Basic storage block for Topaz!

    - Block of Amethyst, Basic storage block for Amethyst!

    -Mobs!

    - Rustmite, Rustmites are bug-like creatures that will wear (Rust) down any metal Overworld tools, Iron, silver, copper, etc. When all metal tools are depleted, it will begin to deal damage to the Player. (Yeah, I know that Silver and Copper don't rust, they Oxidize).

    - Cave Troll, Cave Trolls are tall, fat mobs that will mine holes through stone. Drops Leather, coal, iron or diamonds.

    - Ruby Golem, Ruby Golems are like Iron Golems, only hostile. Drops Rubies, can only be damaged by Pickaxes.

    - Sapphire Golem, Ruby Golems are like Iron Golems, only hostile. Drops Sapphires, can only be damaged by Pickaxes.
      • Emerald Golem, Emerald Golems are like Iron Golems, only hostile. Drops Emeralds, Can only be damaged with a Pickaxe
    - Cave Hog, Cave Hogs are like pigs, but are aggravated when they see you

    Infusing!
Infusing requires a craftable item called a 'Gem-Socket' this is crafted in this type of pattern:
    G S G G = Gold
    S B S S = Silver
    G S G B = Blank

You can use this and a gem in an Anvil to make a '___ in a Socket' ('___' being one of the new gems added). When you use a '___ in a Socket' and a tool/armor in an anvil it will give the specified tool a perk. Infusing a tool will require 'x' amount of experience.

    - Ruby, When infused in a tool, the distance for interaction will be enhanced

    - Emerald, When infused in a tool, will cause double-drops (Also affected by fortune/looting enchants)

    - Sapphire, When infused with a tool, it speeds up attacking/mining

    - Topaz, When infused with a shovel/pick/hoe/axe when you use the tool, a 3x3x3 area will be mined.

-Amethyst, When infused with any type of armor, it will give off light.

    Food!
After reading through this, I realized there isn't any food sources! So I added a few things.

    - Purple Mushrooms, Only found in Underground Mushroom Biomes, when used with bonemeal, will turn into a Giant Purple Mushroom. Fill 2.5 hunger

    - Petrified Apple, Petrified Apples drop from Petrified Wood Trees fill 2.5 hunger

    - Hogchop, Dropped from Cave Hogs, fill 5 Hunger

Thanks, I've been getting a lot of hate for this... D:

I like the concept, but... it's completely impossible. Not for reasons stated above. Unless you have bonus chests, it's impossible. You need a stone pickaxe to mine petrified wood, to make a stone pickaxe. How does that make sense? You said the land generates all the way to the height limit, and a layer of bedrock would make it impossible to get up there. If that's so, there will be no real wood. Which means no sticks for pickaxes. Which means no pickaxes for petrified wood.

    HUH?!?!

Woah... I didn't even notice that :o I'll have to fix that...

:P Well thought out, young fox :P

Thanks, I put a lot of effort into coming up with the ideas. The edited version will be better, though
