I can't speak much for min-maxing in terms of hardcore, but in general for "maxed out boots", I tend to use unbreaking III, depth strider III, feather falling IV, protection IV (or your particular choice of whatever TYPE of protection at level IV), and mending.
There's also soul speed and frost walker but I personally don't use the latter (I think it's mutually exclusive with depth strider anyway?), and the former I do use but I have it on a separate pair of boots specifically for when I'm exploring the soul sand valley in the nether (which I often do only for gathering bone blocks for bonemeal). But if it's not mutually exclusive with any of the others and enchanting costs don't prevent it, then I suppose it would be included with my earlier mentions if we're talking "maxed out boots".
lol you should have both on your boots and even more..my boots have protect4..feather falling 4..depth strider3...thorns3..unbreaking3..mending and soul speed 2..why not have all these for the protection you seek?
the thread is on hardcore not how you dont play on hardcore why even reply here...as for the topic....i have been in my hardcore for 290 days..just defeated the dragon cpl days ago...got wings and shulkers the following day...iron farm ..creeper farm..wool farm..getting materials gathered for a guardian farm..i am set to thrive!..and yeah most deaths are avoidable..just slow down and pay attention..and dont try to be boss...unpreparedness usually results in death
iron and coal are everywhere..just have to go mine...thats all i hear now days is no iron.. hard to find diamonds..too much copper..well copper is a great source of xp...i keep 9 blast furnaces filled with copper to repair my elytra and just for that..with lava farms available coal is not even needed...chop trees use lava to burn logs..for charcoal..torches furnace fuel all free! As for iron there is a ton deepslate or stone iron its still there just have to find it look at all this iron.. see image...that is just 1 of the iron veins in that cavern!..we mined enough diamonds for a diamond based beacon in just 3 Days..and we is my girlfriend and i..lol not a party of players...i have been playing 11 years and i dont have ANY issues finding ores even with the new updates
best place for iron and the most of it..is in deepslate..find a mixture of deepslate iron and tuff..we have found many iron veins there the biggest vein we have found had 2270 blocks in it
need to address the sides... will never be dark enough in the day to spawn creepers only at night...the top cpl lvls may spawn some due to the roof but the lower lvls are for sure getting daylight on them

should add Thorns 3 to those boots and your golden..well Diamond but that topped out other than soul speed which just offers speed in the right places

My girlfriend and i playing on a realm...we were able to make 2 Diamond Base Beacons in just 45 days!..no x-ray no hacks..pure survival!
