    posted a message on [CTM] ProjectCTM - Collaboration Maps Collection {Titan's Revolt Open Beta 1 Now Released!}

    I just completed Titan's Revolt and wow, that was a ride. Excellent design on the final intersection: it was the perfect blend of difficulty and challenge without feeling over-the-top. Random question (since I know this map is 2 years old at this point), what's the current state of Divinity's End? I had no idea it was even being made but after the ending book I thought I'd ask.

    posted a message on [CTM] QuailCakes's DWINDLING HOPES Map Collection

    Introducing Dwindling Hopes, a new series of Minecraft CTM Maps for versions 1.8.8 and 1.12.2. Inspired by the classic gameplay of older CTM maps like Legendary and Pantheon, these maps aim to place you into increasingly difficult areas which test your ability to survive and think on your feet. Armed with only your wits and the few items you find along the way, will you be able to complete the monument and defeat the hoards of monsters out to stop you, or will you die trying? Only time will tell!

    Note: All of the maps in the Dwindling Hopes series require a good amount of Minecraft survival knowledge and understanding of how to conserve food and resources. Any maps with a difficulty rating of 4/5 or higher are not recommended for new players to the CTM genre. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

    Full Maps:

    Dwindling Hopes 01: Unbalanced Mess

    Minecraft Version: 1.8.8

    Description: Built in just under 3 days, and the first CTM map I ever finished, this 16-objective monstrosity is everything other than a polished experience. From challenging and bizarre dungeons, to countless tricks and traps, this map’s goal is to kill you and nothing else. If snarky signs and bedrock boxes full of mobs aren’t your thing, now is the time to back away quickly.

    Difficulty: 4/5. Starts out unforgiving, but isn’t too difficult if you know what you’re doing. Full of frustrating areas and massive dungeons which seem trickier than they really are.

    Dwindling Hopes 02: Box Therapy

    Minecraft Version: 1.8.8

    Description: If you haven't used MCEdit before, let me tell you: the brush tool is a thing of wonder. For caves, platforms, islands, you name it. So why not try to build an entire map without using it? Created over the course of 2 months, Box Therapy was made entirely without the use of the brush tool in MCEdit. Imagine an entire map full of square rooms, choppy dungeons, and the occasional void pit. You'd need therapy after a while, too.

    Difficulty: 4/5. Difficult, but not impossible. Starts out unforgiving, but gradually gets easier as you go along. Don’t be afraid to reset the map if you lose all of your supplies early on.

    Records and Bonus Objectives:
    This map is the only one of the Dwindling Hopes series to use records and flowers instead of wool for monument blocks. In addition, in order to add an extra layer of complexity to the map, 15 Bonus Shards are also hidden in chests throughout the different areas you encounter. There is only one of each, so be careful to store them safely before you get the monument!

    Dwindling Hopes 03: Inconceivoconsequential

    Minecraft Version: 1.12.2

    Description: You've played "impossible" CTM maps before, right? You know what I'm talking about: maps where people claim to have created an impossible map full of traps, mobs, rage-inducing dungeons, and everything in-between. Well, what would a map be like if all of those "impossible" claims were actually true? Created over the course of a few months until it was perfectly sinister, Inconceivoconsequential is the epitome of every evil (or downright unfair) CTM trope rolled into one neat little package. Leave your water buckets and iron-dropping zombies at home, this one's truly impossible and there's no looking back.

    Difficulty: 5/5. The hardest map I’ve ever created or will ever create. Extremely time-consuming, slow gameplay mixed with a sharp difficulty curve halfway through makes this map one of the craziest out there. When I say the last dungeon of the map is impossible, I mean it.
