I was reading on (several) games sites that MC will run at 1080p and 60fps on either of the new consoles.

So the OP thinks that the MC graphics will be improved with shaders? Have we forgot that we're looking at 1980ish graphics here? Anything would be an improvement. (I wish MC looked like Blockscape).

Exactly. What good is 4k if all we're getting are 16x and 32x textures? Besides, 4k is only really noticeable on larger sized screens... just like 1080p is only noticeably different from 720p on 40+" LCDs. With 4k, you'd need screens 55+" to notice a difference from 1080p.

posted a message on will xbox1 and xbox360 be able to conect to each other on xbox live?
Just a heads up... you can only text message between xbox 360 and xbox one. You cannot voice message... unless a recent system update changed that.

    Quote from Jmoses1323

I know I will be going to the Xbox One.. and will be transferring a "Test World" to see how the expanded worlds look :)

Let me know else is and if you are looking forward to it

You cannot expand a transferred world, yet. It will remain the same size as it is currently.

I look forward to the first skin pack for Minecraft on Xbox One, then hearing all the crying from people that didn't get Xbox One until it was too late.

"May not be there for launch, but we intend to have a Resize Save option, so you can increase the size of a save transfer world."
So I was right. Good catch. I had no doubt it would eventually come, but too many people were assuming too much.

posted a message on Small question about world sizes
    Quote from hardypart

According to this interview with Mojang's Daniel Kaplan it's indeed due to not every XBOX having a HDD. I really don't understand it either why the bigger worlds can't be optional.

Having a hard drive would give them ability to temporarily increase the amount of memory available to use by converting hard drive space to virtual memory. Having a hard drive is only part of the problem because you run into how big of a hard drive as well as space available on that hard drive. You also run into limitations imposed by Microsoft on file size of saved games. Minecraft world saves can be large in file size. Increasing world size will greatly increase the file size.

Well them stating they can make worlds larger but cant shrink them right after saying saves will transfer from 360 to ONE but not back from ONE to 360 kinda states that they will get an increase in size.
No it doesn't. What they said was worded in such a way that allows them to get away with worlds being able to be transferred from 360 to One, but in no way have they officially stated that 360 transferred worlds will get an increase in size. The only thing that was really stated was that worlds created on a 360 can be moved to the One, but worlds created on One cannot be transferred back as easily.

I feel sorry for anyone who buys the game again to only continue playing the same tiny world when they could now have it expand up to 5184 x 5184 with their original creations intact in the map.

They could just keep their 360 for that.
Again, show me a quote stating that you will be able to resize your 360 world. Until I actually hear or read it from 4J, it's all just speculation. I prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to speculating about this game. There's nothing more dangerous than spewing off your interpretation of what they said, only to find out you were wrong... and end up disappointed and disgruntled because of it.

There is nothing wrong with transferring your creation to the new console. I still own my 360 and it's on it's last leg. If I created something that I'm proud of, I'd love to continue being able to show it off on the new console... especially since I'd be able to instantly stream a tour of my world on Twitch... something not possible on the 360 without exterior hardware.

but at least your giving reasons on something you've seen and played right ?
It's all still opinion. Reasons are not always shared.

As a computer technician, I know that PS4 has better hardware specs than the Xbox One. That's undeniable. Didn't stop me from buying a Xbox One, though. In the end, it boiled down to what appealed to me and what other uses I had for the system.

as know ones played the xboxone version yet i dont know how you can expect a fare answer ?
There is no "fair answer" even if we were playing the Xbox One version because everything boils down to preference and other uses for whichever platform he chooses. We can tell him that the Xbox One version is great until we're blue in the face, but the fact of the matter is that may be true for us, but not him and his situation... different strokes for different folks.

Well, while it may be less problems in number, they are generally more severe problems...nature of the beast i guess. I never really had problems in that terms of way with computers from walmart. all the adware, malware, and viruses that my current desktop has came from me downloading cracked launchers and mods and falling for "surveys" and stuff for "free" codes to stuff... Now my computer will even BSOD in SAFE MODE!!!!.. But I do see what you mean. Would you consider that McAfee / Norton antivirus trials that come preinstalled malware too?

    BSOD= Bluescreen of death

McAfee and Norton Anti-Virus trials often come with Malware, as well... usually useless toolbars that steal your browsing history and spam your email. Java also comes with Malware... sometimes a McAfee install other times a toolbar. You have to be cautious not to just accept all default value and click "Next" on everything on an install package. Sometimes you even have to customize the install or go to advanced options to find the malware contained within the package by default and uncheck the box next to it to not install it.

The best things in life are free... and usually contain malware.

To me, anything that I don't actually use, runs in the background, uses my data, or uses up my resources without my knowledge... is all malware.

Did you see my post edits?

Less problems? The viruses that your anti-virus don't catch are usually the ones that require you to completely reinstall the OS to eliminate the problem. That's actually worse off than you were before... and that doesn't even include the viruses that reside in your RAM. I've rebuilt PCs that were infected only to have them come back a week later because they were broadcasting private medical data across the network.

its called Avast! free antivirus ...
I use Avast! and have it installed on every PC in my house, but no anti-virus program is infallable. Only a fool would think that. As someone that has been contracted for company-wide virus infections, I can assure you that root kit viruses can render anti-virus software obsolete. Also, anti-virus software usually does nothing with malware. I use MalwareBytes and even then I need to use a couple other programs to weed out as much as possible... and still never get it all.

Your definition of malware differs from mine. My father bought a laptop from CompUSA and they install their own version of "Windows Defender", which I consider malware because of the stupid and useless ads, popups, and alerts that come with it. I'd much rather install software I trust, than have someone force feed me their crap just to maintain a service contract.

Most laptops that cost $400 will be riddled with malware and will put in subpar hardware components to make up for the higher end components. The software/malware will most likely be software mandatory to maintain a service contract if you buy it from a chain store.

That being said, the real question is... what are your other uses for your laptop? Is it only a Minecraft PC or is it your main PC as well? Do you use it for things that require some privacy?

Is mobility an issue? Do you always play on the laptop in one spot or do you like to move around the house or take it with you to play elsewhere?

Do you play vanilla Minecraft or do you use mods or your own skins? If those are important to you, then PC is your only choice. At the same time, it makes your PC more susceptible to malware and viruses packaged within those mod/skin packs. If malware and viruses are a concern, then console is your best choice... especially if you have a lot of personal data on your laptop.

The Xbox One is a great console, especially with the Kinect sensor... but it will always be behind what PC Minecraft can offer as far as updates. At the same time, it will have a more secure environment because you can't install uncertified mods.

What it boils down to is... whether you buy a new laptop or a Xbox One, what else will you be doing with it?
