You can only generate obsidian with portals and the end spawn pad. The old trick with redstone or string has been patched for a while now.

Yeah, I just got back into playing recently just to see what was added. Come to find many old tricks no longer work, which is kinda sad.

Are there any working versions of the Obsidian Generator out there? Been trying the redstone version, but that's not working. Haven't tried the string version of it, though.

Just wanted to say "thanks" for sharing this seed. The amount of villages on the small world map was pretty impressive. I had expanded the map before the last update, but did not explore anything outside the initial small map. After the update, I went south one map and found a mansion. It was the only structure that I found on that entire map.

Hmmm... just tried riding one of my two horses for the first time. Had my white horse with saddle and gold armor disappear after going on a long ride looking for another village..

posted a message on BUG REPORT : MC XBONE
Been playing Xbox One Edition a lot lately. Every time I go to my dashboard while the game is still running... or quit the game, it locks up and freezes my Xbox One. My controller cannot work. Kinect voice commands will not work. I actually have to manually press the button and shut down the console. The issue only occurs with this game. I'm currently using the Natural Skin Pack, in case that may be contributing to the issue. It was bought and paid for on my 360.

Running into a few issues with Minecraft Xbox One Edition.

    - Slow chunk loading when joining games hosted by others.

    - Had a part of a chunk missing when my map filled in... a perfect square formed in my ocean with no water. I have a quick vid clip of the issue on Xbox One.

    - Mining animation locks up occasionally.

It's more likely you put a $5 deposit down for the disc version of the game... and will be charged full price.

posted a message on How long will 360 be updated?
    Quote from SoulEmpire

Lag in multiplayer is due to internet restrictions and lack of servers.

    That's not entirely true...

When you're playing a game that already strains to run in single player, the issue is only compounded in multiplayer. In the case of Minecraft, we all already know that the Xbox 360 already struggles to run Minecraft due to the numerous restrictions...
    - low RAM
    - no Hard Drive requirement (hence no virtual memory)
    - save file size limitations
As we know the single largest bottleneck with the 360 is the 512MB of RAM. Due to the fact that a 360 doesn't always come with a Hard Drive, all data is stored on the RAM. When you play online multiplayer, each block may have a different state on each console... depending on where each player is playing. The data on each block has to be transferred to every player in a multiplayer session... and in turn that data needs to be downloaded and updated on each system. That's usually where the hard drive comes into place... as a temporary virtual memory buffer. Since the game must work on all variations of 360 systems, that data has to be stored on the RAM... which is already struggling to keep up with the game. That is why there is lag on Minecraft 360 and this system can't handle Minecraft. The PC version has a system requirement of 2GB of RAM and at least 200MB of Hard Drive space to run the core game... and that PC will struggle to run Minecraft. That's 4 times what the Xbox has.

You cannot possibly believe that the Xbox 360 can handle Minecraft a lot more.

dig a tunnel right through the mountain, then string TNT right thru it. Light one and watch the chain reaction.

Cartoon Pack isn't too bad. Kind of a cross between South Park and Looney Toons, when you look at the mob skins.

    Quote from IAMBaldur888

Hey anyone with the xbox one any ideas or suggestions for a headset. My current ones are broke and I want to get a good set but didn't know if there are any issues with compatability between xbox one and xbox 360.

I have had top of the line turtle beaches and tritons before but the last set I bought was some wireless X32 turtle beaches and they are bad. The wireless connection is constantly failing, having to buy batteries and sound quality. Instead of going to Best Buy I just ran over to Walmart and bought the best they had so that's how I ended up with this headset. I prefer wired headsets. Initial cost is not an issue.

Alternatively, you could buy an old Turtle Beach headset for cheap and buy the adatper for the xbox one and to save money. Or you can buy the headset for Xb1 Turtle Beach.

I too, shall be heading to Minecraft Xbox 1. I play on Hard mode & I build alot so I'll be looking foward to playing on a bigger world myself.

I have the TBX12's with the Microsoft adapter and it's not all that it's cracked up to be. The volume controls on the TBs do not work on the Xbox One. You have to use the volume controls on the adapter itself... and the chat/game volume is one adjustment, unlike on my X12s which had a seaparate volume for chat and game. Also the headsets do not work seamlessly like on the 360. It's as if the drivers need to install each time you unplug and plug them in. I often find myself plugging my headset in and not being able to chat with someone I'm in a party with. With the 360, if it didn't work... I'd unplug then plug it back in and it would usually work. On the One, I frequently do the same with no change. I'll turn off just the controller and then turn it back on... nothing. It usually ends up requiring me to restart the system entirely... or reinstall the controller update before it finally starts working.

It's not 9x9. It's 5x5. One block space between the table and the bookshelves. No torches can be between the table and the bookshelves. That negates the effect of the bookshelves.

I think that they should just wrap the world... keep heading north, you end up on the south end of the map. Keep heading west, you end up on the east end of the map. Then there's no more room for expansion and people will shut up about it already.
