Okay. So that went a little worse than expected. Instead of going 40 nm to the SE (the weaker side of a storm) it was a direct hit with the eye of the storm going over the island at 7am on Sunday. That meant instead of 60 knot winds we got 90 knot winds that gradually moved all around in every direction as the eye passed by. Maximum possible damage. 27,600 residences out of 34,500 lost power.
We finally got our power back at 8am EST today. I have restarted the Server.
Tropical Storm Fay is passing by the island of Bermuda this evening Oct 11th and Sunday morning Oct 12th (Eastern Standard Time) with forecast winds of 40 to 50 knots with gusts to 60 knots.
If we lose power then the server will obviously be down. Power is usually restored within 3 to 4 hours.
A cactus killer House has been built at Spawn giving safer refuge to newbies on the Server. A good Sugar Cane and Cocoa Farm have been established at spawn.
Haven't tried it yet? It's not too late. Lots of resources are still available in the area.
The "Pura Vida" mite server went live last Friday evening. There are some people who logged in and their game play went......BADLY! If you are one of those people who have ended up at -30 and quit in frustration then please send me a PM and we can look at getting you restarted and pretend that it was all a bad dream! The more people we can get on there the more fun it will be, and the MITE Mod is fun, right?
I was beaten, battered and bruised. Barely alive. In the twilight of dusk I spotted a lone glowing torch through an open window. I had stumbled across a glorious farm full of sugar cane and cocoa plants. Without a word the farmer showed me inside, shielding me from the rapidly approaching darkness. I could offer him nothing, to weak to even wield a shovel or an axe but the kind stranger said nothing and passed sugar and chocolate my way to sustain me. He showed me a wonderful device that I could use to swing the balance of power into my favour with the dreaded creatures of the night, plunging the vile specters onto a prickly mattress of death. It was almost effortless and night after night I grew stronger. I had nothing to give so during the sunny day light hours l laboured with joy in his fields, harvesting the sugarcane and cocoa, expanding his farm where I could. And then when I was strong again I left my temporary home, wiser for my visit, and determined to never let the creatures of the night best me again. As I left I gazed back at the sun peaking over the tops of the jungle and could only think.... pura vida.
Hi MITE Fans. I will be hosting a 2nd Public Server and hope people will come and give it a try. Nothing like starting from scratch, knocking up seeds, and trying not to starve to death!
The host site is puravidaserver.ddns.net and it used the standard port 25565. It will use Mite version R85.
I am going to start it on Friday at 7pm Eastern Standard Time. On the server it will be 6AM of Day 1.

Unfortunately I had not noticed that it didn't take so around 3am EST the computer decided to have a nap!
It has been fixed so Server should be up 24 hours a day now.
