Snapshots are works in progress and are not final. I haven't played the snapshot yet but it sounds like most of the cave related generation stuff is not in this version.
So yes, ore generation will change with future Snapshots based on that message. Whether or not it's "optimal" is a different question, the changes in a future snapshot may make copper ore more ore less common, we aren't sure about final levels yet.

I did something similar recently. You will need a "temp" score as well as a coin score. First, run this command:
This will clear the players of all your custom nuggets and then store the number of items it found into the temp score. Next, run this command:
This will convert the temp score into actual coins that can be used as currency. To make the currency global, you simply have to use a fake player instead of a real one:
If you want, you can broadcast a message using a command like this:
All of these commands should be run from within a command block chain or a data pack function in order.

I do not see any specific mentions of Hytale in the original post, but I see that others are discussing it, so I'll post my opinions on that. Depending on which direction it goes and what kind of features it has, Hytale may be more popular than Minecraft for the general community. The real appeal is for creators of any type because the developers of Hytale are putting a lot of effort into providing for them. As already stated, all tools used to create the game will be released, and the website also showcases some animation software and the like. With Minecraft, you basically rely on the community to generate that kind of stuff for you. There is the command system, which allows extensive manipulation of the world but it's fairly hard to use and daunting for the original player. Further, the command system has a lot more limits than you'd expect in a game like Minecraft since it relies on what the developers specifically allow us to do with them. From what I'm seeing, Hytale would be different than that. If the Hytale creator community could get to the general public and implement the right features, it would likely replace Minecraft after a while.

I believe it is line of sight as of now, but I do suggest that they switch to a radius system.

I'm fairly sure that diamonds can spawn in nether fortress chests...

I will say that the optimality of spawning in the nether is determined by what biome you end up spawning in. Assuming you spawn with no loot, spawning in a soul sand valley would be extremely deadly. You would have to continuously dodge arrows and fireballs without anything to fight back with and at a slower speed than if you ran on normal ground. Spawning in a basalt delta would be a little better, but you wouldn't be able to craft any tools due to a lack of wood sources. You'd have to fight off magma cubes with your bare hands. If you spawn in a crimson forest, you have a source of wood and can climb trees, but you have to deal with the waves of hoglins and piglins that will attack you. You'd only be able to craft wooden tools (or gold if you were able to mine it) until you found either a bastion or a basalt delta (I don't think piglins trade if they're hostile). If you spawned in a nether waste, things would actually be quite passive, but the nether wastes are one of the hardest to actually live in. You'd have to go to another biome in order to get either wood or food (unless you wanted to live on rotten flesh by killing zombified piglins with your bare hands. You'd even need some wood in order to live off of mushroom stew). Your best bet would be spawning in a warped forest because you get a source of wood, you're safe from hoglins, most other mobs don't spawn there, and endermen won't attack unless you look at or attack them. But there's no food source in this biome.
Nether survival is still very dangerous, and certain worlds could give a bad experience such as one world where I spawned in a nether waste right next to a soul sand valley and the nearest other biome was over 150 blocks away.

I think the idea behind the netherite being in bastions is that the chests will be guarded by piglins, who will immediately get angry at you once you open the chest. If you just waltz in and take the gear, you'll have a fight comparable to a raid on your hands. There is a problem with this, which is that hoppers can be used to cheat the items out without consequences, but I've already made a suggestion to fix this. I would consider the water/lava bucket thing cheating, but a patch likely isn't going to come due to community division on subjects like these.
Despite this, I would generally agree that enchanted netherite tools shouldn't be in the chests. IMO, chests should hold a maximum of 2 ancient debris, and maybe a netherite shovel/hoe (unenchanted). Also, bastions should be rarer.
I will argue against your argument that it makes ancient debris rarity redundant. You still need 5 ancient debris and 5 gold in order to make one ingot, and netherite can only spawn in veins of up to 3 (it's 2 in most of the nether). Going into a bastion is a risk, assuming you don't do the hopper thing, so netherite is still quite hard to obtain.

You could do this using a title command, but this isn't common knowledge and would interfere with any other item that uses the action bar (such as the debug stick). Of course, you could disable the function for players holding a debug stick, but that is an even less known solution. I give 50% support.

With the addition of Bastions, piglins have become the guardians of some pretty epic loot, such as netherite and undamaged enchanted gear. The problem is that piglins are by default passive if you wear gold, so they don't pose much of a threat. They become aggressive if you open a chest, hit them, or mine gold. Those last two are fine, but the chest detection needs some work. It only triggers when you actually open a chest, so technically you could use a hopper and just transfer the items directly into your inventory with nobody stopping you. I haven't tested this, but I think you could just break the chest and steal the items. It makes the loot far to easy to obtain - You just need to wear gold, not be greedy, and carry a hopper with you.
I have multiple suggestions to fix this:
Of course, not all could be implemented, but at least one of these would fix the problem (with the addition of implementing either #1 or #4, because those are the only ones that address the "break a chest" problem).
Also, piglins appear to only become hostile if they're looking at you. I suggest changing that to if they're close enough to hear the sound.

This isn't a universal solution because you'd have to change the position each time you create a new world since the nether generation will be different. Also, there's almost no way of knowing where to teleport yourself without building a portal to the nether, which kind of defeats the point. Most of the time you'd end up teleporting yourself to the middle of a wall if you tried to enter random values.
Also, you can disable commands using an NBT editor, as well as enable them on maps that you download.

I was about to make this exact suggestion. It would be incredibly useful since people die by lava quite a lot.
