So i left my ps3 on all night and it completed 2 workloads...granted it doesn't give you as much points. If anyone is scared to try this with their ps3 because they are worried about overheating, don't worry about it. My ps3 actually feels cool to the touch which is strange haha

I want to see a new sub-forum for all the posts asking questions about what are good parts for building a new computer, or people asking what's a good computer to buy.
The Computers, Software & Technology forum is ~80% made of this stuff.
Could someone at least write a great 'Computer Parts & Picking Guide' that should get stickied to slow down the countless repeated posts?
A sticky for this would give everyone a single place to ask their questions about this, and find answers from previous posts. It would also clean up the sub-forum a lot and get rid of the junk. The "Is this computer good stuff" really feels like spam now.

Is there any rhyme or reason to these seeds? For example do the number mean anything? would it be possible to create a program where you input variables such as type of biome, ravines, flat, mountains, and other things like that and it would give you a seed that matches what you want?
So the temperature in my room is at about 85 F :sad.gif: my ps3 puts off a ridiculous amount of heat. I'm going to go to goodwill tomorrow and pick up a couple floor fans haha
A huge rack full of GPUs would be better, but suck more power than half of Poland, louder then a stadium full of vuvuzelas, and hotter than the surface of the Sun.

my room is a sauna with my two new fans breathing air into my room (loft bed with a desk underneath ftw, gets warm in here >.>) yeah two fans for $5 from a garage sale, Scythe Slipstream FTW, now i just need a controller and we're good

I had an 80mm fan that i had painted a few weeks ago just for the hell of it and i wanted to see if it would actually push any air lol (yes i realize it is upside down and should be exhausting i just did that to show you the color haha)
Get a NZXT Sentry 2, I have one and love it, plus it also has 5 temp. probes!
I might buy a couple off you so I can fold with them too! :tongue.gif:
I have the nzxt m59 and will be upgrading to the nzxt switch 810 when i have the money. Haha if the price is right sure! :tongue.gif: i need to get a job first though because right now all i have is 40 and it is all going to gas :/

Ehm, you know there's not only ATI Radeon but also Nvidia, which is I think a bit cheaper and better than the AMD GPUs. So I think you'll only get a bottlenecking and too expensive PC with that specs. What you could do is look up or contact those private PC-Sellers. They build after your needs and only take 100 bucks more for that. So keep a look around. And I know you hate to hear it but making your own computer is the best and cheapest way to get a PC and it's not even that hard.

I like the books too, but I have been reading a lot more lately and most books cost $10 where as a Nook Simple Touch costs $100 and you can download most books for free.
It wouldn't be such a big deal if my cpu was given smaller work units that don't take 13 hours to complete. Instead I have just been folding on my gpu and ps3 since they only take between 2-5 hours per work unit.

Only because they released the 7000 series sooner than nvidia but nvidia will almost definitely beat them with theirs.
