First world I tried with the new version was "Twelve". Imagine my surprise when I found I was on a nice Survival Island with a few animals and four trees (3 oak, 1 birch). Also some sugar cane and a couple blocks of exposed iron.
Check out this one - you spawn in plains with an Ice Spikes biome to one side, a swamp with a witch's hut next to that and a village next to that - all visible from spawn!
I did the same thing - went over to the new snapshot to enchant a few items and when I came back, everything was gone. What I did was I switched to creative and rebuilt my inventory as best I could from memory. I used books to enchant my tools, weapons and armor as close as I could get to what I had. I might have missed something, but I gave myself back most of the really important stuff.
If you don't have cheats on, open to LAN, enable cheats, and then close the LAN. Then you can just toggle creative by typing "/gamemode creative". Go back once you have everything back by typing /gamemode survival"
Lookin' good, detfig! But I'm pretty sure you aren't getting mooshrooms on your platform because they need grass to spawn rather than mycelium. Also, I think I read somewhere that there is a spawn limit of 16 animals total. So if you add together all your cows, chickens, sheep, pigs, wolves and ocelots and the total is 16 or higher, the mooshrooms won't spawn at all. Best to cull back to two each of the animals and then breed them after you get everything spawned in. And, just to be on the safe side, I'd convert at least half your mooshroom platform to grass - that way you've got al bases covered.
Thought I'd post a few more screenshots of my platform. I've made a lot of progress today (had a day off and got to play for a few hours). The first pic is of my farm - you can see the pasture on the left, the tree farm in the center and the crops on the right. Got everything in now except for Netherwort (not sure where I'm gonna put that). The rectangle in front of the pasture is a squid tank - haven't gotten any to spawn in there yet, but I'm hopeful).
The second shot is another view of the MegaVillage. I'm getting a stack and a half of iron every time I go down.
The next shot is my mob farm - I'm getting a ridiculous amount of drops from the monsters in there.
The last shot is my Nether Portal room. It is located over the End Portal. I've cleaned out the resources from under the platform, and built a small basement there. I put my enchanting table under there - only a couple of bookshelves so far, but I'll buy more pretty soon.
Next major project is to rebuild my house - right now it is just a little 5x7 basic house, but, well, you'll just have to wait and see!
