At least there are still 4 plank types (unless they change that later on too), as oak roof and acacia are currently crafted into oak planks.Quote from Winter_Mage

Edit - Screenshot of resource pack with custom log tops for all non-oak logs.

Only the forge versions, you can download the modloader versions if you prefer that.

But if you meant stairs, like what's depicted, he's planning on making sideways slabs connect the same way stairs do, giving them a similar effect to sideways stairs, if you place them correctly.

Personally, I like this better than the vertical stairs idea.
Well, if the corner updates work like koop's idea, this won't be a problem at all, since they would form outer corners in stead of inner corners.
I can only think of extremely few cases where that idea would go against fine detail work, so I still think that would be the best.

And there you go!
(Found it through Vechs' public SH fileswap folder, which he gave links to in the OP)

If someone wants a patch for a certain texture pack, let me know (preferably give me a link to the pack), and I'll see what I can do.
BTW, copying every single tool/weapon sprite from the Forge spritesheet to the individual modloader files was a PAIN. (And, I noticed you had a duplicate sprite in metal rods for modloader: woodensword_+ and woodsword_+, of which woodsword_+ follows the samte template as the other wooden items.)

I have assisted in the making of some mods, but due to complications with JDK, lack of time (this is the most crucial point...), and due to me not being very familiar with code (just small portions), I've never sat down and coded a mod of my own.
Besides (rest is spoiler'd to shorten the post a bit)
Plus tons of requested skins (though I usually delete them a month after it's completed, so not many to show ATM).
An example of a model I've made, in an attempt to improve minecraft's spider (it was supposed to be a venomous spider in the Nether, but then cave spiders were implemented in vanilla, and we decided to scrap the mob):
Note: This is not technically a finished product, as the mob was scrapped from ' class='bbc'>NExpansion before the model was 100% completed.
Note 2: Due to the extensions on the head, the eyes would follow the player's movements in stead of the entire head, this was also intended to creep out the players a little
