This was supposed to be over by now.
"Pre-release coming tomorrow!" - three days later, nothing. Heh.

It will look better, have directional lighting (like light from the front of a furnace), work with stairs and slabs correctly, stop generation of dark unlit areas in worldgen, and all in all, just be a new lighting engine.
There will be a fallback for less powerful computers. -

Bye. Nobody is going to miss an entitled child, just like the ones hounding the Aether.

That already exists. It is called Extreme Hills Edge.

As a matter of fact, this thread is searched from time to time, and if it is even mentioned, we occasionally get multiple pages of the thread deleted at a time.

I'm a little offended by that, lol. I just decided I no longer wanted what I put there to be there.

There already was a dev version, how many do we really need? You guys should really quit with this, it was things like this that drove the Aether devs nuts.

Well gee, I wonder where I got my post from

I fear you are mistaken. There would be a hell of alot more coding left to do after the dark druids and talisman were completed. I'm pretty sure the entire tribal settlement generation still needs to be worked on. That in itself is gamebreaking.
I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but I very much dislike the Aether in its current state, so I'm waiting for a future version. I can't ever bring myself to play on peaceful, because thats not how mod developers picture their content being played. The new Zephyrs are a thousand times worse than the previous ones in my book. Through default configs, hostile mobs are WAY too common.

....or we could like, you know, not add a million limbs for the sake of adding them, like DivineRPG does.

Uhh....no... please.
And in all honesty, I saw nothing wrong with the original Prime Wight battle.
I know I'm not really allowed to disclose any info on it.. so I won't.
Besides a couple obvious bugs that the developers are fully aware of regarding the domain and certain mobs, I think it was executed perfectly.
I do like the new models, I just hope that this doesn't turn into something it wasn't intended to be: a mod trying to look as realistic as possible.
Generally that isn't a problem in games, but that isn't some small change either. It is enough to fundamentally change the mod itself.
Best of luck, guys.
Edit: Texture packs ftw

Have you played on the EpicMinecrafter servers before? No
Why do you want to join this server? I'm looking for a more consistent and grief free experience, which I'm not going to get on the official Aether servers. I'm a firm believer in whitelist servers being more resolute.
Have you ever been banned before, and if so, why? Yes, I wasn't aware that Spoutcraft wasn't allowed on faction servers. This occured in version 1.2.5 and was learned from.

You can place skyroot logs where you are currently standing, potentially causing suffocation.

I suggest this for 100% easy installation.
Take it easy on yourselves and listen to what this guy has to say.
