We don't just give away free logos like that.

You could've gave us a little idea on what your server is about? An idea on what it would look like and just a little more description about yourself.

Several weeks ago was an older version of Minecraft. The newer version does make more demands on computers. You've only got the bare minimum of RAM, and your CPU and graphics card are pretty old - so it's not that surprising that it's starting to struggle.

I've started playing minecraft since beta 1.9, and only since around a month or few weeks back did it show any problems.

I mainly use 1.6 because there are compatibility issues with my server on 1.7 which I am currently fixing

Singleplayer seems to have no problem at all with stable fps of around 70-120.
But on servers the fps tends to drop and go up crazily and rapidly ranging from 0-180fps max

I know my gear can handle mc 1.7 just fine, the last time i've used 1.7 on singleplayer, it was still ranging around that 70-120 fps, with just a minor fps drop.

I know my gear is somewhat outdated (most of which from 2011) and that it's only an entry level PC ( was on a budget back then ) But I'm absolutely certain it can handle 1.7

Try turning all graphics settings to minimum.

Nah I don't think so, I've tried that and it didn't work, plus my computer can handle the highest settings no problem, till a few weeks ago or a month? as I said, it reaches 180FPS, around 70-100 FPS on average
    Quote from A_Herb

    Options/Video Settings/Mipmap OFF.

And yes, reduce other settings - reduce the render distance to maybe 8; change graphics from "Fancy" to "Fast".

Close all other applications when playing - including "tray icon" programs.

Make sure you've got the latest graphics driver *from the manufacturer* - don't use 'automatic update'.

If possible, *completely* disable that Intel card, and only use the Nvidia.

Completely uninstall Java, then Reinstall it (from the Sun website only). If you have a 64-bit operating system, you should install 32 bit java first and then 64 bit java. Read that linked page for details.

There's other things too, but see how those go.

1.) Closing other programs definitely makes things better, but as I already said, it only happens now, back then things were stable even with several open programs
2.) I never use windows update to update my drivers
3.) I only enabled my intel graphic card to experiment and see if it works better.

posted a message on FPS stuttering
    Hey MCforums community.
Lately I've been having problems with MC, FPS seems to be stuttering, it sometimes reaches 180FPS then drops to 0 FPS

Steps I've done to try and stop the issue:
    • Reinstall Minecraft.
    • Reinstall Graphics Drivers.
    • If I switch to intel HD graphics (Disable my nvidia card) FPS seems to be stable-er but performance drops a lot.
Anyone has an idea to what's causing the problem? My computer works well with other games such as COD, GTA, TF2 and similar games.

So anyone might have any guess on what's causing the problem? as I said from 180FPS it drops to 0FPS and then goes back again and repeats, it makes the game almost unplayable, this happens even while in small spaces where there are no chunks to be rendered, anyone have any thoughts?

Well, all said and done, Sorry I haven't been updated yet.
Anyways, looks like your progress is going great! As said above, use worldedit to easily make huge creations (train yourself first on another world unless you want to end up making giant circles and squares)
and yes, install this plugin called essentials, it has all you need instarting a server, to make your spawnpoint different, just stand on where you want your new spawn to be and type /setspawn

posted a message on Able to host a minecraft server from a website?
As webrosc said, most likely they used a vpn (Virtual Private network) or something similar,
Its highly unlikely that hosting an MC server on web hosting is possible.
Even if it was possible and your host allowed you, you wouldn't have enough horse power to actually run more than 3 players without lag, web servers dont offer powerful processors since they dont need to, mostly they need is an SSD and fast network, but they usually dont offer anything that powerful.

If you really want to get serious, you should buy an MC hoster, The cheapest one I found is crystalhost, 3.50 dollars a month per GB, unlimted SSD space, 20gbps anti ddos, intel xeon e3 @ 3.2 ghz
etc etc... they even offer install any modpacks

So well, bottom line, mits highly unlikely its possible :(

posted a message on Death spawn point (multi player)
I think you should do some research on permissions, so lets say a newbie walks in your server, his default rank will be set to ____ then theres a tutorial and stuff, and when he walks on a pressure plate, a command block will be activated having the ff:
/pex user @p group set (rank)
    /spawn

And then voila, when he does /spawn again, he will be taken to the spawn spawn, not the newbie spawn.

But please do research on permissions, its a must have on all servers

posted a message on .EXE or .JAR?
With jar, you have somewhat more customization such as RAM specification and direct input through console. Console is also somewhat faster than exe and takes up less resources since it doesn't need a GUI
With exe, its more user friendly but has less customizations, but its not really noticeable

bottom line, the exe is much more user friendly, for a newbie. and the batch is for more tech savvy people who dont need a UI

Add on info: You wont really notice anything much different between the two, there are no major differences as both have the same objectives and both do the same thing.

posted a message on How to make a server wiki
I've been searching around and really hoped on this...

The server I'm currently developing has a lot of plugins 50+ Especially with Heroes and MCMMO, the two big players in my RPG system.

They have tons of features and classes custom configured and I want the players to easily understand each one, by making a wiki!

I've done a small amount of research and seen some stuff like wikia and wikispace but neither seemed to stand out for me. Is there any such gaming wikis out there? (Not Enjin, Enjin is a gaming website, which I obviously have)

Is there any such wiki that you think is like minecraft wiki and such, Something similar to MCwiki or wikipedia.

If you do know anything, please tell me, on a really tight schedule. Thanks! :)

posted a message on What is going on?
Well, it's obviously client side, try to reinstall MC and your video card drivers.
But before doing anything like that, you should remember to try and restart your PC first to see if that fixes the problem

posted a message on Please help a 5th grade teacher bring MC to kids
Well, the type of server you're making is, at my radar, kind of easy to make

So I believe you have basic knowledge of plugins and configuring them,

    - Warps is very easy, just get a warp plugin and fly over to where you want your players to be teleported and just type
"/setwarp [name of warp]" then if you want players to be teleported there, just ask them to type "/warp [name of warp you made]"

    - Since most 10 year old kids I believe have played on other MC servers already, this is one aspect that's VERY important, It's called "Permissions" At first, it will be really hard to configure if you're new to the server business, but you can learn how to do it here:
    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1327397-permissions-workshop-solve-permissions-problems-here/

The main focus of permissions, is in the name itself, It lets your players have custom permissions, AKA what they CAN DO and what they CANT DO in game, say You want a player named "John" to only be able to warp and break blocks, but he cant do anything other than that, this is what permissions does for you. it'll be hard to configure at first as i said, but after a few weeks, you'll get used to it and get even interested.
(or, you can ask me to make a custom permissions for you)

    - If you typed a book, and want to reproduce it without having the problem of typing it over and over again, there are several plugins out there that can duplicate books that you made.

    - Worldguard is the obvious choice to restrict areas, you'll need to install worldedit first, then worldguard

Mind giving us a basic rundown of server specs? and the basic things you want to be done in game? so that we can get a clearer idea of what you want.

Don't hesitate to ask me or other devs on these stuff, after all, that's what McForums is about, helping each other.

    I hope I helped you today :)

posted a message on How to Recruit Great Builders
It takes wits, time, and well, something, it takes guts and marketing to get people interested in working with/for you.
I bet you should start with people you know, probably invite people from the old server you play on. another thing is set a good image for yourself, if you are really desperate, you can pay people, or the most desperate approach is make yourself a new life in another server, fight your way to the top, become famous and be someone known, then you may get your friends hooked on you.

Well that's what I could think of so far. So Im hoping this helped :)
