Did you try mining downwards? If you don't pitfall, there may be something wrong with your save. I would also try flying if you have single player commands or Zombe's fly mod.

I wanted to build some things, but sight issues and movement issues are limiting me. I just want to be able to fly through the air so I can build without scaffolding.
I have single player consol commands mod, so if anyone knows a command for spawning monsters it would help a lot.
I used winRAR and got Risugami's mod loader or w/e, and I put that folder in the mods folder in .minecraft, but I'm not sure what to do, or even if I put Risugami's mod loder in the right place. Help?
Im new, please help. So I have the modloader .zip file open, what files do I put into the Minecraft.jar folder??

This is my first day of playing, and I'm already getting annoyed. I'm sick of dying on the first night when I make an epic house and get ninja'd by a skeleton. Is there a mod or something that lets me respawn in or near a location? I just lost my most epic creation ever: A treehouse, because some skeleton archer shot a arrow from miles away ( as usual ) and killed me.
I was just wandering what you guys used as your first dwelling/shelter/house.
I'm going through my first night, and I had a cool idea of making a tree house! :biggrin.gif:

I'm not sure how to start multiplayer. I only tried one, rrminecraft.com, but it said something about a premium account or something when I hit login or w/e. What's that about? and also, can I use mods in single player?
Make a giant creeper! Then, look for a mod to spawn creepers. THEN, Look for a mod to FREEZE monsters. THEN build a huge cage around the big Creeper, and spawn a whole bunch of creepers inside the cage. :biggrin.gif: I don't have enough knowledge to use mods yet, but it sounds awesome.
I'm quite new, but I know how things work. I'm looking for a server where I can build things and look at others creations. I also don't like people trashing my stuff. I also enjoy exploring and mining. I saw a video on Sky City once, and I'm looking for something similar to that.
To be honest, I think the best place to make your first dwelling is where or near where you find your first coal depot.
This way you can mine inside your own house. Of course, I'm hoping of making my world an actual world instead of a huge canvas of land.
