About Me: I have been playing Minecraft for quite some time and am very familiar with the game. On the server, I will spend most of my time building. If I were to get rolled back 30 minutes, I would not care too much, the extent of my reaction would depend on how much work was lost, though I would probably still be pretty patient about it. If I were a member of a group that wanted to make a town, I would work on getting the town a healthy stock of materials, as well as building protective structures and useful areas such as farms, this role is an extension of my love of building.

Sep 10, 2011Im seeing a lot of people complaining about hunger because "It does not add anything to gameplay", a statement which I feel is flawed. Eating has completely changed the way we play minecraft for the better (at least in my opinion).Posted in: 1.8 Update Discussion
In 1.7 and earlier updates, the sword was a really unneccesary item. One could simply build a small house of dirt, and turtle up there all night, the new hunger mechanic now keeps you moving around looking for mobs to hunt. I have always thought that if the game can generate worlds of nearly infinite sizes, why would it seem to encourage you to stay put.
Another thing, you mentioned that some people like to hang around in caves for days without returning to the surface, and that the need for food would clutter your inventory and make you constantly need to return to the surface. This is untrue. You can carry large stacks of food, and 2-3 cooked beef can completely fill your hunger bar, and if you run out of food underground, find some zombies, they drop a new food item known as Rotten flesh.
Aug 25, 2011I know that adventure mode will exist in the distant future, I was just trying to word it so that people would understand that adventure mode and the adventure update weren't the same thing :wink.gif:Posted in: 1.8 Update Discussion
Also, Bold is enough, you don't need to make your letters huge, it ends up sounding a lot like flamming. :smile.gif:

The thing I notice: WILL IT EXIST IN ANY FORM. "I don't think so." = he doesn't think survival will be in 1.8 IN ANY FORM.
You guys are really taking that out of context, the exact phrasing was:
"There have been many questions regarding the future of Survival as it exists currently - will it exist in any form after 1.8?".
Another thing, I want to know what you guys think would be any different between this made up "Adventure mode" concept and "Survival mode".
My understanding is that 1.8 will play very much the same as 1.7, but with many new features such as the new landforms, structures, and mechancics such has hunger. People who say they dont want to explore can just play the game exactly as they did in 1.7, but with the new features.
Jul 3, 2011Returned, had to stop early.Posted in: Maps
-I went exploring and found a cave, found a bunch of lapis
-Smelted 4 iron ore
-Sheared a bunch of sheep, used all shear uses (sorry)
-Killed a few skeletons
-Made Blue wool
-Made Light Blue wool
-Made Town Hall fancier
-Made flag pole taller to compensate for fancier town hall.
-Killed some creepers -> obtained some gunpowder
-Started working on a House.
I had to quit early because of real life stuff, but I plan on taking this again later so that I can finish the house I started.
Jun 18, 2011I think these pistons look far better than the ones in the mod. The main thing I like about them is how less mechanical they look. The way I see it, minecraft should stay fantasy, the old pistons just didn't fit that theme. These pistons on the other hand, not only fit the style more, but look a lot more detailed as well. I am personally okay with these pistons not launching sand, it seems more like a glitch to me than anythign else. I can think of some pretty cool piston elevator designs utilizing the sticky pistons.Posted in: Minecraft News
