Do you have any experience in PVP games? (If not, are you a good builder? Miner?): A bit, I like PVP, but all of the servers I've been on are full of deathmatchers/spawnkillers that ruin the game. I'm also a pro builder.

I really like the subject matter of this thread, and also the amazing ideas. I noticed that it's very easy to tell what era/theme each person imagines Minecraft is in, or should be in. There are the people opposed to the relatively futuristic technology of airships. Possibly because they see a more nomadic era in Minecraft. Just as likely, it could be because they don't want to deal with douche-baggery that airships might induce. Having the ability to build and use airships would give griefers yet another way to irritate other players. The people in favor of airships seem to promote one of two reasons: new means of transportation or new ways to play the game. Wanting airships on the basis of having a new way to travel kind of seems too far ahead of Minecraft's current design. Personally, I would prefer to see steam locomotives and the ability to couple minecarts together first, or at least larger, sail-driven boats with some variety. As far as the design of the airships goes, I honestly don't care for the fantasy/futuristic style. If anything I would like to see the airships use giant balloon-style blocks for ballonets, have a small gondola hanging underneath, and be powered by a furnace like powered minecarts. All of this, of course, being for the sake of simplicity.
