The Endermite is a cool idea, but the new minecart physics are horrible. I don't know what they were thinking when they come up with that. Does Mojang not know that minecarts de-railing at corners and bouncing back at hills is bound to break things? It's going to be a massive headache to deal with on worlds where there are large automated rail transportation systems.

I remember back in beta 1.6 3 years ago when they overhauled minecart physics and destroyed everybodies cart stations.

Yeah, people will get over it.

I don't think you needed 72 normal tracks to slow down before a turn. An unpowered rail slowed down a maximum speed minecart even with powered rails right before it for me. http://imgur.com/GL37Yoy In this picture this unpowered rail slowed down the cart enough to not derail just fine.

I may just be misreading what you're saying completely though. ;p.

Also, I think we should take into account the minecarts are VERY buggy right now. Like when they take corners they go completely off the track then back on again and they can't go down slopes when to fast and stuff. I assume they'll be working out the physics of them next snapshot.

Then they should be reporting the memory leaks so they don't appear in the official release. That's still testing.

Memory Leaks have been in Minecraft ever since it first became public in 2009. 4-5 years later nothing has changed.

I agree, whats the point of making stuff in minecraft if there's not struggle making it?

"No struggle" Oh dear god... At least do SOME research before spouting your non-sense... Do you see how big and expensive and time consuming some of these farms are to build. I would swear and destroy you right now, but this forum has strict rules about "flaming" so consider yourself lucky.

Yes. I completely agree with A_Hard. let people play the way they want to play. That's why it is called a sandbox game, because it is designed to be open world, freedom, do whatever the hell you want. You don't want farms? Fine, don't build them. How I get my iron or gold in a single player world is completely irrelevant and unconcerning to anybody else, yet some people make it their job it seems like to make sure that "everybody has a fair playing advantage, and no exploits are used." It's ridiculous. You people can go mine your iron tediously in caves for hours, while I stay by my big machine I spent ten-twenty hours on that gives my infinite iron and roses and sorts it into my storage room, because that's how I like to play minecraft, and that shouldn't be a concern to anybody who doesn't use farms or even the devs. Now, straight up glitching item duping is different, but just simply exploiting mob spawns (and you can argue about if it's even exploiting them) is in no way duping.

I wish people would just think about other people's opinions and views, rather than push their view as the ultimate deciding factor...

Programmers who release crap code should be criticized for it, how else will they learn? I *am* a programmer, and I welcome critical feedback. If I do idiotic and game breaking code, I want to know.

Same goes for my resource pack, if I ruin it, I want people to yell at my for it.

Mojang totally botched the render engine, the need to be told they screwed up.

I agree. If I mess up, somebody should tell me, or I'm going to just keep on making that mistake. It's not only the render system, minecarts and boats are broken as well. They no longer check where is a safe place to put you when you exit. You can exit directly into lava or even into mid air. It's gamebreaking.

It wouldn't be too difficult. You can make "true" mountains in MCEdit or WorldPainter in 10-20 minutes. I'd like to see this change.

I think that the main problem with the update is that it is adding too many things at once. Other updates only added at most one biome at a time and few other things. Of course, like jungles, the new biomes will eventually grow on to people, but it will take longer than most other updates.

This update is mild compared to Beta 1.8-Beta 1.9. Seriously "too much at once", that's hilarious.

I agree the randomness is nice. But the new flowers don't fit the environment at all you really cant say that look good can you?!

I'm willing to discuss as long as it ends in "It will be tweaked" or "your right". I know that's a very one sided way of thinking but everything in this update is so wrong and so unneeded that I cant not look at it that way.

I think the new flowers look fine. You probably just need to adjust. Having lots of popping colors in the terrain is pretty different right now, so it's an adjustment you'll have to make.

The new terrain, is ages, I mean just AGES ahead of of the old terrain. They terrain is so much more varied, so much more random. I saw it descried on Reddit as "Pre 1.8 terrain on steroids" and I completely agree. I see NO reason to hate it at all except for the nostalgia glasses you are wearing? Te new flowers din't look "vanilla." Lol what????

    Blah blah blah, moving on.

posted a message on Thoughts on new ocean generation?
What would be best is have the old oceans (but smaller than the current ones, obviously) but have continents more common, as right now continents are really non existent, it's just land with big lakes, but in 1.6, you spawn on a continent, but then finding other continents is too difficult.

    Find a balance in between.

I like the new oceans. The old oceans got ridiculously big,a nd took way to much priority in spawning. Seriously, open up a map in AMIDST, and you will easily find an ocean over 15 000 blocks long. That is insanely big.
