And for your information, Toast went ahead and demoted ALL of the moderators. Can't honestly tell you why he would do that, but it's just chaos on the server now. No one follows the rules, griefing and duping run rampant, and no one can do one darned thing about it.
Which brings me to my response to ping's latest post. I would like to say that we could do something about it, but no one CAN, and so, no one will. Mr_Bratwurst and all of the FoE people are just going to continue making the server miserable until Toast regains his sanity. No disrespect intended, Toast, but de-modding the server was possibly the worst move you could have made. I understand that some people were just abusing their power, but what about those of us who you know were only trying to help the server?

I would be willing to put down a large sum of money over who banned James and Fool. Fohmyn, because he dislikes them. That was my first thought on seeing that he was a mod. I would also bet that I'll be banned when I try to join the server too.

Gents, I had one intention here and one intention only. I want to stop abusive moderators on this server from randomly kicking members of FoE. Asrayl randomly kicked three people without warning or discussion. I banned him before he banned/kicked every single one of us. Pingpong logged on, went to talk to Flec, and kicked one of our members off the server for attacking Flec. Seriously? Flec exploited a respawn bug where he was invisible to kill four of our people. He was bragging all evening about filling 6 chests with loot from our corpses, and when he finally steps out of his house and gets killed, we get kicked from the server? That is unacceptable. Pingpong did not ask questions, did not bother to hear another side of the story, he went straight to abuse of power, and I stepped in.
I've tried to be fair and not abusive. I have not kicked or banned anybody except those two moderators for blatantly abusing their power, when I felt it necessary to protect people who were doing nothing wrong. Moderator abuse has been a serious issue since we started play, and while I'd like to see full, fair enforcement of the rules, there is serious bias against the members of FoE.
To Flec: I did not ban you, that was one of the longer-standing moderators. I made note several times that your profanity was way above and beyond acceptable. You got yourself banned.
As to harassment, I admit to that. We stayed outside your house hoping you would venture out for a fair fight where we could reclaim some of the gear you took from us. Spawn camping is illegal, but house camping is not. PvP is enabled in town, and you failed to put up adequate defenses around your town. You did not need to continually return to your house, but you chose to.
So I kick a player for some abusive treatment of other players (mostly just poor conduct talk, insult throwing and the like. I had intended to remind him that while ToastTowns is active PVP, the other people on the server are humans too, and don't deserve to have insults thrown at them all day.)

Alright... I've been looking into some ideas and doing a bit of research. I, personally, love PvP. I think it's a great, thrilling aspect. Combine that with the concept of Minecraft and building things, and it could be what many people dream of.
Now, what if this was a full-fledged PvP server? Sieges and attacks and wars? If you were an enemy of someone, you would use TNT to break through their walls, but it would be at a high, high price. What if you could become an alliance of one person, and become bitter enemies of another? Would this be fun? Would it work?
Also, if the entire server was built upon anti-grief measures, would mods be needed? For example, if you were given the option to join a town, but you didn't, and rather wanted to live on your own and save up to buy your own town. You wake up the next day, only to find that your place had been griefed. You knew the risks, you took the risks, it's no body's blame. Mods really aren't needed here...
These are just some things that I'm pondering.
