    Setting priority to high as said above does wonders for me. I can run a server and Minecraft on one little laptop without terrible lag. (Both set to high)

    So my sister and I have been playing on our own server for a few days now. Today she tried to connect to the server and wasn't able to. I've been using localhost, which works and allows me in. However my IP address doesn't let you in and times out, even for me.

    Any help on what I might have done for this to happen?

    I've got a good computer but when I play Minecraft while hosting a server my CPU goes 100% and I'm unable to move because of my extremely low framerate.
    How can I avoid this? I'm on a laptop and there is a main computer in my house. I just don't know how to send the server files over to it.
