Too bad Etho's skin is from Naruto; his is the only Youtube channel I watch every video from.

Nov 20, 2013Physicist posted a message on MCX360: Skyrim Mash-Up Comes Out Today!I can't imagine the save files are completely different. Even if there is a slight format change, it should be possible to make a script that convert saves from xbox to PC.Posted in: News

I haven't tried lately, but with the short-term waste disposal box you could make them go vertically.
In fact, I made a creative test world where I had neutrons from 6 directions all converging on one block. FUN was had. (Edit: Line 50 boxes up, surround with water and insulate or reflect in all directions except the barrel-end of your shiny new Neutron Gun, then fill with waste.)
Unfortunately, a neutron knows its' source, so it won't convert deuterium to tritium. It will generate heat, but I think it's coded against being usable as a stable energy source.
Further edit: Incidentally, sometimes the neutrons would glitch out and travel at a partial-block offset to the line of waste boxes, so standing on a block which was in the intended neutron path would still get you stricken from time to time. Bug, Reika? It really looked like the neutrons were crowding other neutrons out of the main line-of-fire. This was V9 or so, so maybe neutron behavior has been recoded or touched up since then.

My usual path through Tungsten to Bedrock (avoiding steam engines except my first Friction Heater and never using coils) is
1. AC Electric / Gasoline for most early power until Microturbines, (Incidentally, Reika's redstone mod has a super-simple clock for ACs, it's just noisy, but you can wireless it)
2. acquiring some tungsten with the extractor on AC's
3. Two Microturbines at bedrock level through appropriate gearing to cook the tungsten, and then
4. use a Multi-Directional or manually change a bevel gear to start running the Bedrock Breaker off those microturbines.
One minor issue I'm having: AE2's crafting and machine-interaction is my comfort zone, but I'm having trouble getting out of that zone for Vanilla+Reikamods only automation of whole fuel-production and distribution lines. Do any of you have any real-use setups with screenshots?

I've been looking at Tubine Flywheels a bit. Am I correct in these statements?
1. Turbine Flywheels prevent gathering steam back up using a condensor, so only ever use it on H2O steam.
2. Turbine Flywheels negate benefits from using ammonia steam anyway.
3. A Turbine Flywheel is only ever desirable on that one last turbine (or your very first one) where you aren't quite producing enough steam for it.

Moving a pylon is a world-breaking thing. It's really important that they stay right where they are.

Two bugs:
1. The glowy tree leaves will displace Stone Brick when they grow.
2. Using a screwdriver lets you rotate the whole model for a Turbine Flywheel. Just the model and power in-out directions; not the invisible-and-collidable blocks. This would make more sense if it would only let you give it 180 degree turns, or if it would actually move the blocks around the center block.

Oh yuck, do batteries still really waste all their juice even when the demand isn't their full output?

It seems to me like there would be a default Xmn if you didn't set it, just like there was a default (and low for modded Minecraft) PermGen value. I've heard of people setting Xmn to be equal to the Xmx, which can prevent brief service interruptions while the JVM grabs more memory; is that what you're saying by "don't set Xmn?"

Fun. Can you configure global variables in some silly .plist file or global bashrc that gets processed during boot? I can't remember if you've got a normal /etc/ or not.
Also, see if you can cat/textedit the /usr/bin/java file; I think it's a script that calls the binary, not a flat executable binary. You could perhaps edit that to your own ends.

Tons of ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException until I break and replace shafts. Expected?

Condensed Ores. That's a crapton of ore. Does it change the average number of ore per chunk, or just aggregate them into larger-but-rarer veins?

The only thing about those pipes in that thumbnail is that I think they went one block too far down; it just needs to intersect with the oversized model, not go all the way to the actual block.

A Railgun blasting into the forest produced Podzol... *awesome* Podzol is renewable with Rotarycraft!

My Induction Generator didn't like taking a Gas Turbine's output directly out of a Multi-Directional Clutch. I had to put a shaft in between for some reason. Power was going straight through the MDClutch from south to north (set to north when redstone power was 13-15, and I saw that redstone was properly received at the clutch by the power not going West). The Induction Generator read receiving 0 watts from gas turbine, while the shaft before the MDClutch read 67MW.

I'm unable to add Thrust Boost to a Bedrock Fin-cooled Winged jetpack. I suspect it would have worked if I had simply applied the modifications in a different order.Intended?^ Looks like I just didn't put the gas turbine on the bottom. Oops, I thought it was shapeless.
Similarly, I can't upgrade the HSLA steel jetpack to a bedrock jetpack.

Ok, Chromaticraft now: I can't seem to craft an Ore Finding pickaxe because of the rune placements. It wants me to put runes where parts of the structure go, so the structure is no longer 3-diamond-level.Turns out you must have Crystalline stone underneath the crafting table. This is not required for a level 3 structure, but is required to make this pickaxe.
