I'm having a problem with placing blocks, as soon as I place any block it freezes and exits minecraft. How can I fix this I'm running no mods or texturepacks.
I think i have this problem, we play for like 5min on my server and the lag creeps up and then its unplayable on any other computer other than the servers and no one can connect. servers computer also loses its ability to use the internet though people are still connected just lagging extremely bad (5mins of waiting for chest to open)
Thats not the same problem. If you host a server on your own computer and also play on that computer chances are good that the mem get eaten up so everything slows down. At least your sympthoms sound like that.
Im running the server with 1.5g of memory, shouldnt that be enough?

Me and my girlfriend are trying to play on my own server and we keep having a problem where it runs fine for 5minutes and then she starts to lag more and more. After a few it becomes unbarebly playable and if we disconnect, (me the server) cannot access the internet, and no one can connect to my server.
Anyone know if its my router/modem or anything. i use norton antivirus and have ported + turned off my firewall.
I've also tried running it with extra ram and with higher priority to try to reduce lag and such.
We've tried using my own internet and hers. Shes on an ausus laptop with windows7
Weather would make things more lively and realistic.
Rain might even cause water levels to increase 1/2 a block or a full on block.
Snow might cause snowy areas to get bigger to 1/2 a block or a full on block.

This could prob be implemented using half blocks. if you try to fill up a bucket with 1/2 a block of water it would only go half way, when you place it, causes it to be only 1/2 a block of water and reduces the range of the water. etc
I really like the idea other than the core. The core sounds nice if one wanted to do a more technological minecraft though, like a mode maybe.
also (i dont know if you said it but) make it stronger than steel obvlously but not stronger than diamond
and has an inventory of 1. you can light it by putting a torch in it (which consumes it) or light it on with the lighter
You put wood in it and it consumes it over time when it runs out of flame (much slower than if you used wood in furnace though) it would take to much wood to keep it up
Possible new things
- Mud > can be made into a mud block, you sink half way in mud when standing on (but not mud blocks)
- Dark grass > normal grass but dark
- trees > trees that the wood part would be a 2x2scale instead of 1
- herb > something new that is found only in the jungle biome that acts as a mushroom
- swampwater > turqoise cooler water / dark green
- frog > can be killed for 2frog legs ; can be cooked or put in stew with herb?
- hostile panther > can be killed for both meat and leather (maybe on hard mode only?)

Of all things we should have a campfire that lights up a disctinct large area and makes it so hostile creatures cant spawn in a large area around it. Also able to cook food in it. Maybe make it take up wood or coal to fuel it idk?
Also I would love to have a large witch like cooking pot that you might be able to put meat in it and other herbs to make special meat. maybe one that is secretly posioned or even give temporary armor stats. any thoughts?

Yeah i didnt put much thought into this and i did edit it. I just woke up and still waking up.
The way I see this is the trees are hovering over you everywhere, swampy like water, frogs and maybe new plants/trees/herbs etc.
