I know the perfect idea to prevent file ID conflict here. Just giving a suggestion for the modAPI. :happy.gif:
Not that i know of modding, I just know that file conflicts and ID conflicts often causes crashes (common sense.)

Jul 25, 2011Phaxtolgia posted a message on 1.8 Updates: Bosses, Biomes and MoreNice. Just don't copy Terraria. XPPosted in: News
Yeah. I'm kinda not happy about 1.8 too mainly because of one of his posts in Twitter or World of Notch (I don't remember. XP) Some fans of Terraria accused him of planning to copy ideas from Terraria, and i kinda saw why and agreed. A good game (even sandbox) has to be truly original.Quote from Squid300
am i the only one who is not happy for 1.8. i mean an objective this is a sandbox game not an adventure game. thats why i play alpha now minecraft is getiing filled with so much crap. for one beds. the point of night is to survive it not to sleep through it :angry.gif:

NO. 1
When you right click, you throw the slime orb. Sadly it does no damage but kind of like the egg, it has a small chance of spawning a small, friendly slime (it becomes aggressive if you attack it.) Every time you throw a the slime orbs at the slimes, they get slightly bigger. Throwing slimes at aggressive slimes have the same effect.
NO. 2
Craft two slime orbs above the bucket of water and it makes a slime blob! The slime blob is a liquid that flows faster than lava but slower than water. You'd take no damage if you intend to swim in it. The slime blob spawns small slime mobs that may turn out to be neutral or friendly. Once they're big enough to attack and you stay friendly with it, it will follow you and act as your guard. It never despawns! You can make an army with enough big slimes! You can also use the slime blob to train on combat and get more slime orbs.
NO. 3
Once you crafted a cake, you can make into a slime cake! Just craft this way:
[] []
[] []
Flint=Slime Orbs (or balls :3)
Iron=Cake
Hold the slime cake and right-click the slime you want to heal. The slime cake heals 9 hearts. Sadly you cannot eat it though.

I went on the minepedia the other day and found a removed gear. I thought up some few ideas that might be able to put back the gears. I know they're replaced with redstone but its for a different purpose.
I thought up of having to make an elevator.
requirements: iron ignot (or strings), any source of trigger (like pressure steps,) any kind of block to use as a pole, and redstone (optional.)
There are two ways of making an elevator.
Way #1
First craft something like this:
If you craft the iron into this:
[]
It creates a elevator step.
Beta look of an elevator step:
NOTE: the idea is still under construction so make sure to visit back a few times.

So I did some quick beta thinking for a lantern:
Note: once Notch found out how a candle is made (and a smilies), the torch will be replaced.
What does it do:
Similar to the torch and other crap, it lits up its range. It can be hung or placed on a ground. When you destroy it, it will become a lantern you can pick up (common sense.) It can also lit up your surrounding range wherever you go. It has a limited time for being lit up. So the less time it has for lit, the less brighter it gets.
This is all... for now.
