posted a message on special effects for mapmakers
I always thought it would be cool if mapmakers could make special effects for their maps, and with all the new spawner stuff, it may be possible. What if spawners could also spawn particles? Particles aren't entities so it wouldn't be easy to do, but if it was possible, maps could be made many times cooler! particles also have no additional effects so it wouldn't deal damage, destroy buildings, etc. There's not much to this idea, but what do you think?

Yes, I like the idea of the feature but clicking a gray error is essentially the same as opening the inventory and shift-clicking whatever item.
Adding to your feature, there should be an toggle-able option which turns on / off automatic inventory updates, which basically is your feature but without clicking the gray error. The items automatically just shift down if the setting is set to true, or on.

Well, I said triangle, not error. And the triangle is the button for turning the feature on or off, not for each individual downward shift.

Seems kind of useless to me. I don't see what hassle opening your invenory and shift-clicking a new item down to your causes.

If it were implemented, you wouldn't have to use it.

I guess it could be useful, but your reason of "it would stop you from being in trouble when your sword breaks" makes not very much sense. It barely takes any time to switch to another item in your hotbar. Although this WOULD save hotbar space...

Oh, when i fight withers I have my hotbar full, my spares stay in the inventory, so I have to change quickly.

Thanks to everyone for the support as well!

I support the sky dimension, but not this particular concept. But if mojang wants to add any sky dimension, I won't complain.

No. We already have the end(er)

the end is a sad chewed up and spat out version of Notch's idea for a sky dimension. And while I support the sky dimension, I don't like the aether at all. no support.

Why not use the InventoryTweaks idea, that when you run out of something and you have another one in your inventory, it'll get replaced instantly. So your sword breaks, but you have another sword, so it immediately gets replaced. But it should be optional though.

I think this is better because it's not always the same item, and is more balanced because it is limited to only four items. thanks for your input though.

Many times, I've been in fights or I'm hunting mobs, and then my sword breaks at the worst possible moment and I get stuck trying to punch a wither to death. So what if above every inventory column, there was a grey triangle pointing down that you could click to toggle a new functionality i call column flow. Basically, when you click they grey triangle, it turns green, and then when whatever is in the hotbar breaks/runs out everything shifts down by one square, also, if one item updates (such as drinking a potion or milk, placing water etc.) the item goes back to the top of the column, you could use this in building so you don't need to constantly pause and open you inventory, instead place four stacks of blocks on top of each other and turn on column flow. You could also use rapid fire splash potions or put swords on top of each other so when one breaks, you're not doomed. It seems pretty simple and its optional, and there's already been some inventory additions in 1.5, so what do you guys think?

posted a message on More redstone
With redstone, i think if you can already do it, it doesn't need to be made easier. Most of this kind of stuff just adds more complexity to the very basic functions of redstone which I am strongly against. Anti piston would be fun to mess around with I guess, but it's not really useful since the only possible function is the transportation of blocks when we already have storage carts.

maybe dye instead of diamonds, that way you can determine the record's color and it's not as expensive. As mentioned before, it doesn't cost anything to listen to music externally.

posted a message on Idea for Hoppers :D
The thing that's great about redstone is that it uses basic functions to perform complex operations. You can use comparators with hoppers and fill all the other slots (I'm not going to get super into it) to do this. With redstone, I take the stance that if we can already do something, there is no need to make it easier to do.

This is not necessary, and you can't post an idea and practically ignore all criticisms against it by making stupid responses with no explanations or just restating what you want.
