posted a message on ProjectE - Equivalent Exchange 2 (EE2) for modern Minecraft versions

Nice to see this coming along so well. =) In reading through this, I did notice the loss of alchemical bag content several times before, as well, across different versions. The one thing in common when it happened was that it was sometime after a black hole band was placed in an alchemical bag (sometimes much later). I remember trying to figure out what triggered it, but I never did nail it down, and no irregular messages ever appeared in the console. =\ For now, I would advise against putting the black hole band in a bag.

One little thing I noticed was how the gold horse armor emc was not in keeping with the other horse armor values.. the other horse armors seemed like they were worth 5 ingots/units of material, but the gold one is 1/2 an ingot worth.. I think Moze must've left off a zero on the end by accident, lol. ^_^

A bigger concern is the function of the watch of flowing time. I don't know how close to the original this mod is meant to be, but this is a pretty glaring exception. I remember the original giving a boost to nearby ee2 machines when active in the hotbar, at up to a 30% speed improvement, with a step of 10% for each charge level. For each one on a pedestal, it would provide a global 10% boost to emc machines (and it took like 31 or 32 pedestals with watches to reach the 10x speed-boost limit, iirc).

With the one in this version giving bonus ticks, even when held, and affecting all nearby functions (not just the mod's devices), it's way more powerful (not even comparable, really), and with the running costs being cheap compared to what it does, it's trivial to exploit. It seems the running costs are more in line with the original behavior and not this one, lol. I remember testing it once, starting a world with just this mod and nei and getting up to the point where I could make a watch and a collector. I started by upgrading fuels with the watch active and was able to turn a profit from just that. In a total of like 2 or 3 hours from the start of the world, with just building emc flowers and having the watch going at full power, I had full gem armor and an alchemical tome. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this is completely broken, lol.

Also, I could be wrong, but the emc running cost for the harvest goddess band when it's active seems abnormally high when compared to the original.

Anyway, just bringing up my concerns.. I'm sure people have already brought up the subject of the watch, heh. I still enjoy the mod and appreciate all the work that has gone into it and continues going into it. =)

Don't think you can actually transmute to smooth stone anymore, but it's the same idea.. also, there's many crafting recipes to upgrade materials all the way up to diamonds (and downgrade), some for smelting, dyes, colored wool, etc. Not to mention portable crafting.. I wouldn't call that no functionality lol.

Aha, ropes do work! But, when I placed a rope on an existing rope, I got an NPE.

Also, something I noticed about grapes, possible bug.. when you break a mature plant, you get nothing.. no product or seeds (I know about right-clicking them to get product).. at least, I never have after breaking several of them.. could be bad luck, I guess, heh.

Ahhh, new topic, new name, and with the new stones and stuff, cool! I'll take it for a spin soon. Well, as long as I don't have to update my forge, that is, haha. Anyway, glad to hear the rope was fixed.. I finally tried it in the last split-mod version with cobble (and regular stone) and it didn't attach to either stone at all.

Think of it this way... if you harvest it and convert it all to planks, you'll have tons of fuel for smelting (assuming you don't want to use it for decoration and what not, though there's probably enough for both, haha).

Ahh ok, thanks, I'll give it a try. :)

I mentioned a bit ago that corn doesn't reach a fixed, mature state (where it can be harvested), like all of the other crops. After a while, it seems to 'revert' to its prior state where harvesting yields no product. It can grow back to a mature state again and continue the cycle if left alone. I was just wondering if that was intentional.

I'm playing 1.4.5 just fine and I don't have the issue with quote marks, Chandler... pretty sure that's a new forge thing. I guess the config parser needs to be updated to handle the quote marks, but until then, I fixed it by using an older version of forge (and by deleting the configs so that they can be recreated without the quotes). I don't know which version of forge started using them, though, but I think I tried 287 and had the problem, so it's somewhere before that.

Crystal leaves are now decaying.. things are looking good, thanks! B) One question.. how is the rope supposed to work? Clicking on blocks with it doesn't seem to do anything. Still curious about the corn.. any info on that? Oh, and I guess we're on version 1.4.5? The url for the topic still says 1.4.4 (I guess that was 3 questions lol).

I was having the problem with the crops not showing their growth until I updated to 1.4.4.. might want to try that one, if you're having that problem (if you haven't already). Fruit tree leaves (and possibly other untested ones) didn't decay for me before 1.4.4, either. Crystal leaves have never decayed for me lol, even in this version... might be my old forge 4.0.0.247 (used for mystcraft).

Crops seem to work perfectly now! \o/ Well, I was wondering about corn, though.. if you leave it for awhile after it reaches full maturity, it can change to a state where it yields no product when harvested.. not sure if that's intentional or not, since it's the only crop that does that.

Also, I noticed when a big oak is cut down with the lumberjack function, a couple of other types of logs can drop.. sideways (shows as 17:4 in NEI and can be turned into planks) and one with bark textures on all visible sides (17:8, can't be crafted into anything, but can be placed and broken to be converted into regular oak wood).

Crystal leaf blocks still aren't decaying for me.

I get that same thing, soldjermon... it's more than the crystal forest, though.. none of the new biomes generate any new trees, shrubs, flowers, etc., in mystcraft ages. I just assumed that it was the old version of forge required to use mystcraft that was to blame, but I could be wrong.
