posted a message on Minecraft Should Have A New Gamemode
    Quote from DrWeegee123»

Want to know how to do this?

    /Time set night

/gamerule DoDaylightCycle false (Caps may be innacurate)

    Set to hard difficulty.

    There's your gamemode.

No support, there's no need for another gamemode for something that can be accomplished.

"Oh, but what if I want to do this in hardcore mode, and can't cheat"

    LAN world > Cheats: on.

You are also vague on the new items/mobs. You give literally no description of them.

Don't suggest something if you don't know what it is. That's how ideas get locked.

This is the correct response. Nothing else to add.

posted a message on Crossrails and Changes to Current Rails! (THREAD MOVED)

I like the idea except for one thing - the concept art is a little wrong :) The cross rails should have gaps in the rails for train to pass in any of the directions. Other than the nitpicky comment, I like it a lot.

posted a message on Performance Tweaks to the Core Game e.g Java

I think everyone is missing a major point - the console version of Minecraft is written in C#. So no, it would not be a major effort to re-write Minecraft from scratch since it's nearly finished anyway.

I think that rewriting the game in C without any legacy as well as integrating the mod API is the right thing to do. Unfortunately it will never happen because I'm convinced the Mojang is full of crappy, hobbyist programmers. There's a reason that the best ideas are coming out of the mod community...

posted a message on Slabs and stairs for all blocks!

I've seen this suggestion for a long time, but it's still a good idea. There's really no reason to not have slab options for the decorative blocks at least - like Granite, etc.

If it requires a rewrite of the block data, so be it. It's a mess and has been since the start of the game so I wouldn't mind a overhaul of block data anyway.

posted a message on Breed/lure Zombies, Skeletons, and Spiders

I'm not interested in breeding monsters. They already respawn on their own and there's nothing stopping you from building a monster "zoo" or whatever, and trapping monsters inside.

    No support.

posted a message on New nether mob: Fireghost

First of all, I really appreciate the effort that went into that picture ;)

As for the concept, I also agree that the Nether could use some more mobs. It seems like what you're really to go for is a slow, but steady stalker. Something that will terrorize the player and give them grief. Overall, I think that it could be good, though I'm not sure if it's really more annoying than difficult/scary at this time.

posted a message on InGame Skin Creator/Editor

Since you can't change your skin in-game, what would be the point of editing it in-game? As other people have mentioned there's plenty of skin editors online which already work very well.

posted a message on Squirrels! A mob to add ambiance and more to the forest!

This suggestion adds too many unnecessary items to the squirrel. I only would support the addition of squirrels as an ambiance mob like a bat.

posted a message on Dynamic Structures

I don't mind the idea of new structure being created, but I would want it to truly be a dynamic response to the game world.

For example, if you're trading with a village and the population is growing, perhaps the villagers could build new houses of their own. Or maybe if a village gets large enough, a few villagers will wander off in a random direction and start a new village.

I don't want to random buildings to just start popping up - especially if their just an empty dungeon or whatever. I would like to see new stuff being built in real-time sort of like the Millenaire mod with player interaction. That way the player has control over what and when things get built.

posted a message on Furniture to Minecraft!
    Quote from Red_Mushroom»
Wow, my signature should be changed to most people don't read this before making a suggestion,as most of the suggestions I see obviously didn't read that.

Well, here is a quote from that thread.

    -This

    No Support.

I don't really care about the suggestion, but this first comment really grinds my gears. There's absolutely no reason why a person can't make a suggestion based on a mod. In fact, I would say the strongest argument for a suggestion to be included into vanilla would be the existence of a popular mod.

I hate relying on mods and almost never use mods that add new items to the game because I don't want to be beholden to the mod in the future. What if the mod maker quits or takes a long time to update? So there are rational reason why people would like to see a mod converted into vanilla (horses anyone?)

In this particular case, I feel like the furniture mod is too specific and complicated. I would love to see a more simplistic furniture update that included a few basic items that are purely decorative such as chairs, tables (wooden "carpets" perhaps?), cabinets, etc.

posted a message on The Sawmill - A new way to cut wood! (Crafting recipes) + (Custom Pics)

I started reading this suggestion assuming I'd dislike it, but turns out it's pretty good :) Overall, I wouldn't change anything about the suggestion except for one thing - I dislike multi-step recipes. In particular, I dislike that you have to make sawblade separate to then craft a sawmill. There is no other purpose to the sawblade, so it's a wasted step in my opinion.

I say ignore the people talking about multi-tier sawmills, durability, various sawblades types, etc. That's all superfluous. Just make it use an iron block, some redstone, and whatever else you want (stone, wood, etc) and call it done. In order to get iron and redstone, a player would have already had to do some mining. Most likely they're already wearing a full iron kit, so being able to automate wood cutting and (potentially) getting some extra wood is meaningless from a game balance point of view.

Keep it simple and keep it fun.

posted a message on Granite, Andesite, and Diorite Bricks

I support this just for decoration purposes. I'd like stairs and slabs, too. There's no reason for this to not be in the game already.

posted a message on The Travelling Merchant

A traveling merchant that creates static structures doesn't really live up to the term traveling merchant in my opinion. Not to mention that it just sells the same stuff as you'd find in a town.

If you're going to do it, I'd suggest dropping the whole carriage and just make the merchant a dude leading a donkey with a chest on its back. Have the merchant actually travel. If you're really slick, you could have the merchant random appear to be traveling between towns.

posted a message on Ideas that CAN make gold better

I only use two types of equipment: Iron and Diamond. If you made gold slightly better than iron, I'd still only use iron and diamond. Why? For the reasons Kholdstare already mentioned. The only way you could get me to use gold is if it was as easy to get and durable as iron and even if you did that, you'd just be swapping out iron for gold temporarily. End game, I'd still be using diamond so it's mostly a moot point.

posted a message on An Arthropod More

I think Kholdstare already all the majors things and I don't think any edits have address them. That said, I do think adding a few more antropods wouldn't be a bad idea (such as scorpions or whatever).

One thing that I wanted to mention is that I really dislike suggestions that add new mats - especially unnecessary mats that add no new functionality. Unfortunately, both new mats in this suggestion fall in the useless category. Even PineappleWitness can't think of a reason for bug antennae to exist which is a pretty good sign that you don't need to include them.
